Okay... So, The Battle of Canterlot has been out for about seven hours and I'm the only one who likes it. But Actions and Reactions: Saving Twilight Sparkle has more likes, and it got likes within the first seven hours of it being published.
I'm not complaining. Really, I'm not.
But, I dunno. Maybe it's something to do with the way I've written The Battle of Canterlot so far. I don't know.
Still, I'm not complaining. I'm just confused. That's all.
Anyway, The Battle of Canterlot is up. Just letting people know.
It's both the timing of when it is published and the title. Also, if you don't put a picture up, everyone walks right past it. ex: Why I do this had about 7 views in the first three hours. Then I put up a photo onto it and it shot up to what it is now. The title is VERY important. The Rainbow Confession got to be a hot story the day it was released, because of the obvious pun and correlation with everyone's favorite song from the muppets (that's not one my books, though). and I've found when I submit my stories first thing in the morning, I get more views and more likes. "Battle of Canterlot" seems a bit of a generic title, so that might be a very big part of it. I haven't read it yet, but if it's an OC, people don't tend to like those stories either. ex: my proudest fic: "Portals" (just take a look at the great wonderful things that that story had all over it). Battle scenes are all over on FIMfiction, because that's the stuff that people like, but it's usually quite unoriginal. If you were in mythology, you'd have read beowulf and read the story about the dragon (which actually has a bit of a twist), but you'd also think immediately upon reading about the dragon that you know exactly what would happen. It's probably the similar feeling in your story to any other. If you added a big gore sign to the cover, perhaps rated it mature tag for sexual content (which you won't actually put in there, it's more of a lure. Like when people put cleavage on the thumbnail of their videos on youtube so that the video gets more views) then they will come. A lot of people just go around FIMfiction disliking every story that they see and probably dislike it especially because the cover of it and title don't seem to separate it from other fics. Sorry this is so long, I tried to make it as less fluffy as I could. Sorry if I offended you. So... Now I'ma read it.

Well, do you have any ideas for a better title? That was literally the first title that popped into my head. I also don't know of any cover art that would fit my story. I really need cover art.
I dunno. Life is just not seeming to let up on my end and I'm not being able to even write my own stuff, let alone READ everybody elses! I'm sorry I wasn't able to read either.
