    Side story?

In my quest to flesh-out Diplomacy for the Strong, I may have given this world-building a little too much thought... Like to the point that it just can't all be worked into the story.

More Likes Than Words! (and a Sequel?)

As the title implies, A Letter to the Griffon Emperor on the Matter of War has now passed the odd milestone of having more likes than words!

Side story? · 12:46am Jun 21st, 2015

In my quest to flesh-out Diplomacy for the Strong, I may have given this world-building a little too much thought... Like to the point that it just can't all be worked into the story.

After seeing the recent Griffonstone episode I considered writing a short world-building and exposition side-story that would contain excerpts of stories and histories like would be found in the grand library, just as a channel for this deeper world-building. The first of these would be an explanation of how the "kingdom" of Griffonstone came to be a part of Equestria. This and the stories like it would be canon but not have any real effect on the main story, and while each chapter would be self-contained, it would only be updated as the mood struck.

Tell me what you think.

Go for it.

That sounds like an interesting premise and I would like to see that brought to life.

Do you see what I see? 2 errors—collect them all!

Why not?

will NEone get it? who knows? :rainbowwild:

I think with what you've got so far you should just slap an alternate universe tag and make your story it's own griffonverse. the implications of the library door alone could flesh out multiple plotlines outside of and inside of the story. A look into pre-equ-history, or even threats from the past similar to the actual show. I'm way too excited after reading about that library.:twilightblush:

Do you see what I see?

A star! A star, rising in the night with a tail as big as a kite!

Honestly, I think that would be interesting to read.

Go nuts. Up to you whether you want to just do snippets or try to create a whole story framework that would allow you to spout all the worldbuilding you could cram into it.

Awesome, I say go for it, I would read it.

Sounds very interesting. Go for it. Given what you've just set up, it could be anything from attempt at diplomatic relations to subtly annexation.

Gee, more story? Yes, of. Course.

You wrote a lot of headcannon, tis time to make it show

You should definitely do this, I'd read more from this universe.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I'm of two minds of this.

One, if Griffonstone becomes this AU's canon. How did that Griffon kingdom become part of Equestria?

And would the story talk about how an Equestrian assimilated Griffon Kingdom differs from a non-Equestrian one? As well as how does the war effect Equestrian Griffons vs. the unassimilated one?

As Griffonstone seems to be (or at least had been) a failing city-state that once had a king, and the Griffon Empire of Diplomacy for the Strong is, well... an empire*, why not have Griffonstone be a former griffon colony-state that ended up within the borders of Equestria during a previous altercation?

And yes, I would like a side story, even if you use a different idea.

I think this is a rather grand idea!
