If you've truly made up your mind, then I won't be one to try and stop you. I will leave you with a few choice parting words however.
You are a dumbass.
There will always be someone who is better than you. You'll never get any better if you don't work towards improvement. Simply cutting ties and running isn't the best course, If writing truly is something that makes you happy -and don't even try to deny that it isn't, I can tell for myself in your writing itself that you were having fun with it- then you shouldn't hold yourself up against others.
Write simply for the enjoyement of the writing itself. If you reach the point where it becomes work, then you will tarnish a thing you could love.
I hope you reconsider.
