To whom it may concern (my readers) · 11:21pm Jul 23rd, 2012
Hi readers, Cantus here.
I recently released the last Chapter of The Dragon Master. I was ecstatic to finally finish the thing, seeing as I started it almost a year ago. It's evolved quite a lot since that September evening.
However, I don't feel it has evolved quite enough yet. There are many flaws in the narrative, some major, some minor. Whilst it's impossible to achieve a "perfect" narrative, I believe that the story could certainly be told better. The Pony parts are too dry and feel like an obligation rather than a joy, characters act in boneheaded manners, and Spike fails to do enough to qualify as a character rather than a plot device. I want to fix these things.
A redraft is on the cards as I type this. I'm actually drawing up proper Chapter Plans for this one, so it should be organised far better than the current tale. I will do my utmost to have New Chapter 1 finished before too long.
My question to you all is this - if I get the New Chapters done, should I post them here (as some sort of "extra" chapters) or count them as a new story altogether? I'd like to hear what you guys think about it.
Don't worry, in any case - the tale will still, fundamentally, be the same. It will be about Gravil, and the Dragon Realm, and the conflict between his desire for revenge on the equines versus their desire to survive. I look forward to doing this, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and opinions on it. After all, you guys are a big part of why I do this - a really big part. Thanks.
Ciao

I think you should make the new chapters into a spin off or sequel. The way it ended, is like ending season one of a show or book one of a series of books.
