So a few things before I begin. 1) Chapter 2 of Alex, Student of Twilight, will be up later this week. Lets say around Thursday. I'm very sorry for the long wait, but I'm back on track now and this should go more smoothly.
2) I'm going to start making little Blog posts for the new episodes of MLP as they come out, with each post appearing the Sunday night after the episode aired. This is so I can share my feelings about the episode and to give me a reason to be more active in writing in general.
3) Finally, I wanted to ask you all something. I recently came across a story that had a human in it also by the name of Alex. Its called 'Get Him' by TJHoofer, be sure to check it out, its a lot of fun. Because of this I'm wondering if I should change the human character's name in my story. Please let me know what you all think.
Now, lets begin. 'Slice of Life', the 100th episode of MLP:FiM. My good this was amazing. To prepare myself for this I purposely ignored all spoilers, leaks, and the teaser clips to avoid ruining the surprise, and it was so worth it. So many things happened, I'm not even sure where to start, but I'll try.
Cranky Doodle and Matilda, the two donkeys that Pinkie Pie helped get back together back some time around season 1 or 2, make their return at the beginning of this episode. They're getting married and they've recruited the citizens of Ponyvile to help out. But Matilda's horror, she realizes the invites have the wrong dates, saying the wedding is that very day. With even the Princesses coming, yes even Celestia and Luna, its too late to cancel so the ceremony must happen as dated.
Both donkeys run through town to get everything ready and 6 familiar faces show up to help. Dr. Whooves, Derpy, Lyra Heartstrings, Bon Bon, Octavia and Vinyl Scratch are now all cannon in the show and they speak. I began freaking out when they all showed up, it was almost too much. The Mane Six are called away to fight a monster, which I'm not going to spoil, you have to see that one for yourself. And the wedding plans begin...
This was more than fanservice. The whole episode was a loving and truly heartfelt gift to the Brony fandom from some of the greatest show staff to ever walk the Earth. If nothing else, this episode shows just how awesome the MLP staff are and how much they appreciate our support. In truth, the whole show could end tomorrow and thanks to this episode, MLP will be one of the greatest fandoms I've ever had the pleaure to be apart of.
For my parting words I want to say one thing. When you watch this episode, ether again or for the first time, just remember, as a Brony, Pegasister or even just the casual fan, you've become part of something truly amazing. Something that has brought together some of the greatest people alive today, and continues to show us all just how great we can be. This episode is proof. Where else can you find something that combines, Dr. Who, the Big Lebowski, and an entire cast of half fanmade characters, and puts them into the show's cannon as a tribute to its fans? This Fandom is wonderful, and its only getting better.
I don't really think you need to change the name.
