Swordstorm: possible cancellation + possible cancellation of other stories · 8:29pm Jun 9th, 2015
Hey, everybody. I've got some unfortunate news. There is a possibility that Swordstorm: Book 1... will be canceled. It doesn't seem like this story is gonna go anywhere, and even if it did, it probably won't even matter to anybody (then again, I'm not sure if anything I make matters to anybody). There is also a possibility that other stories of mine may become canceled as well. I've put a lot of effort into this project on my own (since no one wanted to edit it), for almost nine months now. I've learned quite a bit during the course of writing it, and have really dedicated myself in trying to improve it. But now I think it's pretty clear this story will most likely slip off everybody's radar, within the course of writing the latest chapter. Chances are, Swordstorm has already lost any sort of significance on this site.
My original intention was to--at some point--make a sequel, to continue the first story. It would have been called: Swordstorm: Book 2. Yeah I know, not the most creative name on the planet, but it's serviceable I guess. But I think right now at this point, my hopes of ever completing book 1 and moving on to book 2, are completely dashed.
As for my other stories... I don't know if I could even continue making other stories on the side, let alone finish them. So, essentially, stories like: The Dragon's Favorite, and The Many Misadventures of Ember Gaze will most likely be cancelled as well.
I don't expect much feedback from this blog, since everyone will probably ignore it. I'll probably just read stories that are vastly superior to mine, like Fallout Equestria, or whatever. Any good story is better than mine at this point. Should this cancellation ever commence, I will still be on this site, supporting everyone else's work. I'll comment on pretty much everybody's work, and maybe even give them some advice or tips on how their story can improve (considering how little feedback I get for my stories, I may as well just help others succeed). Everybody's better off reading anyone else's stories on this site; they're way more talented than me anyway.
This is only a thought, I don't know if I will truly cancel this story or any other story. But with the way thing are on this site, I don't think I'll even hold up any longer. Maybe I should just quit and be done with it, maybe revoke my stories from submission. I believe I've wasted to much time writing this.
To be honest I think everybody should live their dreams to the fullest and if your dream was to be a writer then don't just give up on it. I know getting reads here is downright impossible (unless you pester people for reads lol) and you seem to be doing rather well for yourself (I mean your stories have more than 100 reads so you must be doing SOMETHING right). Trust me I put two years of work on a novel I am STILL writing and I have to rewrite it and began from near scratch And trust me, no matter how bad your stories might be (or at least you might think they are) at least you never wrote in a 'Blood street' or a stupid twist where plants just come to life because of global warming (seriously did Shyamalan even look at the script of The happening before showing it to the public) so you're in the clear lol. Anyway if too many stories are being too much of a hassle for ya then do what I did and focus on just one or two and put others on the waiting list. And if you truly fell like this is the end, just remember. At the end of the day, at least you aren't Tommy Wisseau! And really isn't that a glorious fact that makes life just that much more worth living?
