I'm hoping that by writing my stupid story idea here, it will keep me from actually writing said story. If I'm super lucky, someone else will write it and I can read it instead. :P Or this may just serve as a delaying action.
The story starts with the Canterlot Wedding. The first obvious change is Twilight never leaves the caverns with Cadance. No elements show up to stop the wedding. Queen Chrysalis wins! But Luna finally wakes up and saves the day. Interrogating the changeling queen, they learn of Cadance and Twilight's location, and send help to go rescue them. But when they get there, Twilight tearfully informs them:
"I'm sorry, but our Princess is in another castle!"
You see.. Bowser got tired of being stomped by Mario every time he kidnaps Princess Peach, and decided it's time to claim a different Princess as a bride. Aside from the initial setup, I'd love for this to be primarily focused on Bowser's POV (not necessarily 1st person, but with Bowser as the protagonist). I'm also inclined to not have Cadance be the one he ends up with, but ultimately serve as his love adviser, helping him ultimately hook up with the right Princess. (Perhaps after failing romantically with the others?)
So... bad idea? Or worst idea?
