A Great and Powerful Legacy Announcement · 7:32pm Jun 5th, 2015
My most popular story is on the cusp of its 1000th like, and while I could wait for it, I decided to do this now.
First, a minor overhaul of the fic has taken place, some cleaned up sentences and prose, spelling errors fixed. It could use a dedicated pre-reader to fix it up (and a vector artist to refine my crummy photoshop job for Trixie's costume), but I don't wanna bug folks over a fic that's finished. It's the same story, just polished up a bit.
Second, my thanks to everyone who read and commented on that story. I listed it on my fandom moment on a recent Equestria Daily post, because the response to that fic is one I cherish. I'm used to fanfiction.net's system, where new stories get a couple hundred views and maybe ten reviews, and over a course of a year, a really popular fic can work up to 1000 views. My first two stories posted here got much the same response.
Then came this story. For it to get thousands of views and dozens of comments in its first week of posting was awe-inspiring for me. I've never quite gotten over how a humble little one-shot remains my most popular work when I consider it perhaps my weakest pony writing here, but it shows how awesome this fandom is to give such an outpouring of acceptance and approval to it. Thank you, everyone, for supporting it and me and encouraging me to move on to bigger and better stories.
Huh, haven't read this one yet. Maybe i'll give it that thousandth like
EDIT AFTER READING: Yep, like 1000! Congrats!
I remember reading it when it first came out I think and I liked it a lot. Come to think of it I should probably put it on a bookshelf.
Sweet! Congrats.
I can read it again (as though I need an excuse) and point out if there are any typos and such...
3125512 Sure.
As one of your original upthumbs, I can say you deserved the praise. I had a watch-a-lance much like that on Monster, and it's both a humbling and ego-burning experience. All I can say is keep up the good work and pony on. We'll be watching.
You have a pre-reader.
