How Do You Write? · 3:57am May 25th, 2015
A simple, likely repeated question among writers; how do you write as an individual?
Personally, I tend to act like an insomniac and write late at night when people are asleep, not out of a desire for isolation, but it seems like the only time I can really think. I lay down to go to bed around 10-10:30, by 11 I'm up sitting at my computer writing. Sometimes I go for MLP fanfiction, other times I work on novel ideas.
I also tend to go to YouTube and pull up random music videos to play as I write. For example, as I type these words I'm listening to Maroon 5's Animals:
Don't tell no lie-lie-lie-lie
You can't deny-ny-ny-ny
That beast inside-side-side-side
Yeah, yeah, yeah
It's stuff like this that I play to distract my mind as I write. It's the good kind of distraction however; it frees up the portion of my mind that allows me to think creatively and form complex systems and patterns that are the building blocks for entire worlds. Its also fun on occasion when you start to type to the beat to a song.
So, I ask again out of simple curiosity, how do YOU write? Please comment below!
