I'm so behind... · 3:43pm May 19th, 2015
I meant to have EOO updated three months ago. And I was supposed to be half done with Not the Hero by now. Le sigh...
I'm trying to finish the current chapter of Not the Hero, and then I'm thinking I may actually do 2 chapters of EOO in rapid succession, rather than switching off to a different story in between (or, at least, if I switch off it'll be a reaction fic to Make New Friends, and standalone.) The structure I have outlined has the next chapter being all the good Mane 6 in the Opposition world, and we don't return to what's going on with Discord until the chapter after that, so writing them one after the other seems like a good idea.
And then most likely Awkward Conversations and Tale of Terrible Dr Twilight because those are the ones that have gone longest without updates. Also I might finish Robot Scootaloo. Or, start Tales of Chaos.
The problem here is that I have 4 separate clients that I am late on finishing stuff for, because the month that I was sick, I didn't write and also I barely worked. So I've got to catch up on that before I can go full-out on catching up with my writing. But I really don't want a pattern of updating EOO every 6 months, and I last updated in December and before that in June, so I really want at least one new chapter out this month.
The rate at which the chapters comes out is not the main concern, the quality that they are is what matters. If it takes time to make such great stories then I'm willing to wait.
Things take as long as they take.
Trying to rush them just burns authors out.
You're a professional writer?
Can't say I'm surprised.
I'm doing the same with one of my own fics. I completely understand. But Atrunia and Iron Sky are right. C: and you're so good! For example, your update of No Escape From Yourself was amazing and worth every second of waiting. Sorry I never reviewed it, but I used an entire afternoon to read it and it made my day.
Don't sweat the update schedule when you have clients waiting! Write what you feel inspired to write, you'll end up adding quality chapters to all of them sooner or later anyway.
For Terrible Doctor Twilight, are we ever going to see the reforming spell/book from Twilight's point of view? Because I think you summarized it once in a later fic, and I really want to learn more about what that experience is like for her.
