Errors! · 7:51pm Jul 18th, 2012
Anyone else (preferably those of you across the pond) get those 502 and 504 errors every so often on this site? Or is it just the dirty 'Mericans like me? I'm wondering if we should pester Knighty to upgrade his server a little or if it's just the crossing of international lines that brings out this problem. xP
I get them alot. I wonder if its due to to high site traffic?
I'm european, and actually I'm having the same problems with the errors and gateaways, overall the 502 one. I had to reload the site several times until I finally got in, so I think we should pester knightly yeah . Anyway, I'm also noticing that, apart from the gateaway errors, the speed of the site is getting slower. Its only me?
237332 237334 I looked it up a few days ago and it's due to the server not communicating back to your computer. I assume that Knighty is still using his old technology when he just started the site, and it's not quite as well equipped for the massive traffic that it does have now xP I just needed to make sure (since it's a timeout issue) that it wasn't just a thing because I was so far away... valid possibility and all.
They're working on it, don't even bother pestering them. That'll probably just get you a ban.
It's pretty annoying, but it's not like it's never happened before cdn.broni.es/images/emotes/mlp-pshrug.png
Yeah, right now i got a message of site maintenance, so i guss they're on it.
237341 I've been here long enough to know now to bug Knighty about trivial things like that xP I mostly meant knowing who to blame: distance or technology, either way I can't fix it and don't intend to get myself kicked off the site for being a bother.
yes, actually. I was wondering about that, though if I'm not mistaken, they should be addressing it soon. The site actually gave me a 502 when I tried to get to this journal,
This is semi-normal for a "small" site getting heavy traffic. I don't know how it's being hosted, but it probably needs more server capacity. Maybe a scalable cloud-hosting contract or something.
this has been said in one way before here, but ill say it as well: they are fixing it by getting a new (additional?) server
you can read about it a little on their facebook page
Man, they just upgraded their servers like two months ago to accommodate the high traffic. Are they gonna have to do it again? If it puts a stop to the 502's it'll be worth it, I guess.
Happens to me all the time, but its not a real problem.
I've been getting a lot of those here in the last couple of days.
Yes, last I checked, in the main page there was a post about them getting a new server. No idea if that's done or still in the process.
But they are pretty aware of it and working on it.
I was talking to WD about that, and he says it's due to insufficient server memory.or some such.
I get them nigh constantly now and it's making it next to impossible to comment... let alone read things.
I vote we bug knighty....
Considering that the server is in Germany...
