Autumn Heat Teaser 2.0! · 12:36am May 11th, 2015
Hello Everypony!
Nightie here with a small actual teaser for Autumn Heat. I thought it wouldn't be any fun if I did a purely cloppy chapter with no shenanigans or comedy, or...anything of a fun or serious nature really. So I've added a few twists and such to liven up things, while at the same time showing our favorite hero's slipping to insanity. Now you didn't really think Morrigan would just wave her hoof and fix everything, did you? I did mention the book would be taking a dark turn, and why not start here? Now keep in mind, Talon does not actually die in this chapter. Or...well, any chapter in the second book. So don't freak out. When you actually read the full scene, you'll understand. But for now, a teaser to see what you think. And...begin!
Talon runs through the dark corridors, sweat dripping off of his neck and chest as he fights raggedly for breath, the air hot and toxic. Everywhere he looks, it's the same. Lava flows through the channels at the edges of the halls, through the chambers and down the tubes within the walls, an endless nightmare of torment. He pants hard, continuing to run, desperately trying to escape the predator that hunts him. He can hear her shrill demonic cackle echoing not far behind him, the demonic mare toying with him as he searches for a way out of his hell.
His every boot step echoes and thunders against the hot basalt and onyx ground within the keep, his heart pounding in his ears. Turn after turn, opened orb room one after another, his mind racing to find a means of escape. As he rounds a corner, he comes skidding to a stop, planting his heels before he slides into the molten lake of fire. He's at a dead end. His chest heaves with fright as he looks around, hope quickly leaving him as he feels the approach of the mare nearing. He can hear her slow, rumbling steps, the ground vibrating under her every hoof fall. He knows it's only a matter of moments before he must either fight her again, or end it in the lake.
Swallowing hard, the pilot quickly bolts on his feet, rushing with every last bit of strength left within his legs to find another passage before his would be reaper arrives. The air is hot, his vision blurred. His lungs feel as if they were on fire, his every muscle ached. The man could feel his heartbeat pounding in his head, the only sounds reaching his ears the blood chilling laughter of the demonic mare perusing him. As he rounds the corner, he smacks head first into her barrel, the demonic alicorn knocking him back and to the ground.
The pilot hears her faint hissing, his eyes wide with terror as he sees flames flicker within her maw as her tongue traces her jagged, razor sharp steel teeth. Talon desperately tries to scoot away, his legs kicking with everything he has against the ground in an attempt to flee. His hands grasp at the hot basalt ground, searching for anything he could use as a weapon or diversion. As he turns his gaze away for a moment, the mare casts a magma spittle upon his leg, the droplets of molten rock sending shooting pains throughout his body, his mind screaming with absolute horror and agony.
His gaze flicks back to her as he lets out a pained scream, the mare lunging forward now, her maw now inches from his face as she lowers her head. Talon stares into her glowing crimson orbs with fear, as they pierce his soul with promises of eternal torment and anguish. The mare hisses with rage, quietly seething with pure fury. "Your soul is mine..." The demon whispers out, her every word dripping with poison and hatred.
She doesn't utter a single word more, the fire demon of Baol darting forward, her maw agape and daggers for teeth finding their mark, the human pilots throat. she takes him to the ground quickly, pinning his head against the basalt as her jaws begin to slowly close, her knives piercing his flesh effortlessly as she crushes the life from him. Blood filled gurgles of pain fill the depths of the keep, the sounds of his death as he loses his final breath in his screams.

I think I know how that scene plays out but I don't want to spoil it for anyone else
