Fandoms, and the Power to Make Fiction Emotionally Real

This is going to be a very different blog post than I normally would do, but considering I really don't have much in terms of actual updates, I opted to instead get this off my chest.

    What an Interesting Week...

Well, I mean, interesting to me. Took care of a few IRL things. Work was busy in... unique ways, lately. Winter doesn't seem to want to go away quite yet (which I'm actually fine with. Already sick of Mr. Sun). Had a quiet celebration for my wife's birthday and our Anniversary (got her a CD and some books she wanted). We've been officially married for 8 years now, living together for almost 5

I Normally Don't Write a Blog This Soon, But...

It's been nothing but good news today! On the IRL front, the Citizenship Ceremony my Wife had to attend (online) was a success! She's officially recognized as a Canadian Citizen now, and I couldn't be happier or prouder of her hard work up to now. On a more personal interest front, I learned that both SMT5 is getting a supersized update/overhaul and is being ported to... EVERYTHING! Which means I

    I Had a Small Revelation...

Over the last couple days, there was an intrusive thought that kept hounding at me for the longest time. It was in regards to my current interests and fandoms. Not about my hobby as a gamer, practice as an artist and writer, or love for the music genre of metal. It was more in regards to being a (relatively) long standing brony and how it started.

Happy Valentine's Day, and some Updates!

First of all, the IRL stuff is finally getting sorted AND we've got some good news about my wife's Canadian Citizenship we've been waiting for to finalize. So, very happy about that. Literally just a stone's throw away from reaching that finish line now.

So, Another Month Has Passed... · 5:10am Apr 30th, 2015

And I managed to actually churn out three chapters for my fic, ending Part 4's First Act on an ominous and interesting note (as I see it). I'm rather surprised I had actually succeeded in getting so much work done in such a relatively short time, and that makes me feel good. However, I am a fair bit disappointed that the latest chapter had gotten so little feedback thus far (considering how little feedback I get anyway, that's saying a distressingly large amount), but it's not exactly something I can help apparently, no matter who I ask to promote it or what group I post it in. If it sounds like I'm whining a bit, that's probably because I am, and I'm sorry that I'm not sorry about that. Never the less, I plan to soldier on and complete this story (and its sequels), because it's becoming one of my favorite past times. Bringing characters to life that one doesn't normally see and expanding on them under believable conditions, but in interesting ways. All I hope is that I can share this joy with you guys, and that you look forward to more as much as I do.

On that note, I'm going to be taking a break from writing for a bit. I have a few other projects to work on that aren't FIM or fanfic related, and there are a few games I just wanna sit down and play for lengthier periods of time. I do, however, promise that when I do come back to writing, I'll come back swinging like a mad man with a bee hive over his head. That is to say, I'll try my damnedest to have something for you dear readers when I'm ready once again.

Until then, see you in the comment sections and I hope you have a good time.

PS: I've noticed that some of the more major groups that specialize in comments and critiques have been either dead or very inactive. Especially the ones that have locked submission sets. It's a bit concerning, to say the least, but I hope these clubs become revitalized and active again.
