Woo, new chapter out and I am especially proud of this one. Not only because, at last in my opinion it's one of the best chapters I've written in a while, but because of the chapter in question. Originally, in the story, the school scene was supposed to be directly after Octavia's first meeting with Vinyl.
Which would have made more sense from a writing standpoint. It establishes more of Ponyville and Octavia's world early on, and would have introduced some pivotal characters early on that I would eventually make more flushed out plans for later on. But like I said on the third chapter, I wrote half-way through it, and then just got stuck. I knew what I events I waned to take place, but no matter how I wrote it I didn't like it.
So I ended up going through a little bit of "kill your darlings" scrapped the entire chapter and wrote ghost Lyra instead. Which honestly works out better for everyone. because Ghost Lyra is best Lyra. Plus the writers block gave me a break and allowed me to plan further ahead into the story.
Kinda like this recent break, which was less me having writers block and more me just being unmotivated to write. Originally, there was supposed to be an extra scene at the end which was supposed to set up the next chapter. But after some deliberation I.E me being lazy/busy, I decided it would work best as the opening for next chapter. which in all honesty it actually does.
On the bright side I came up with some much better/evil ideas for the next few chapters. But fair warning after next chapter things are about to get dark pretty quick here. Not super dark, but like I said there are a few people that will probably want to kill me for what I'm about to do. Yeah . . . it's not going to be pretty, I'd add the dark tag, but that would involve taking away my comedy, and this story needs laughs.
