A new project, and an explanation!

    Hey folks,

Alternate title for this blog post: I'm Doing a Thing (and I'm looking for help)

I don't think anyone is surprised that my pony writing has been on a bit of a hiatus for a while, and my presence on this site is mostly to lurk-and-read rather than finish my long-delayed stories. What you might not know, though, is what I've been doing instead of pony writing.

New story and new art! · 1:22am Apr 28th, 2015

Hey folks,

I'm a little slow on this one, but I just hit 'publish' on a collection of short stories from the March Writeoff event. I outdid myself and submitted six 'minific' entries, one for each of the mane six, and I was lucky enough to take second place with one of them. The others ranged from third place to 40th+ place, but I thought they all had something special.

No one makes it through life unchallenged. For every person there comes a time when the world hurts them, betrays them, or calls on them for something great. It is in those dire moments that six mares will learn just what they are made of.
Sometimes the best medicine isn't for the body. It is for the soul.

Please enjoy!

So, what else? Well, there was the April Writeoff, which I was extremely lucky enough to win against some very hard competition. I suspect the next week or so is going to see a wave of feature-box hits from the finalists. My own entry will take a bit of ironing out before it goes up, but needless to say I was happy with how it did.

While I was waiting the past two weeks for the results, I spent some time on my other hobby: digital art. This particular piece is the cover for a story a friend is writing:

I Saw Your Ship

I am super excited to read it.

It took me until now to put that all together, despite the fact that I was going to do the same thing if I'd had the time! :facehoof: Excellent work.

Whoa. Do you have like a Deviantart account so I can favorite everything?

Wow! I saw that art and immediately made it my phone background. I didn't even realise it was by you!

Great atmosphere on the painting. Let us know when the rest of us can read the story.
