    Small Update

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I'm still working on the next chapter of Where I Belong. I meant to have a chapter up by now, but the first draft got a rather... unpleasant review from my prereader, who pointed out some very big flaws. I basically had to start over. I guess it's a little hard to shake off three years of rust. Who'd have thought?

i can't believe i just actually watched 6 minutes of yes

I know I might have been scathing in my recent post on your story but I do love your story. I am harsh sometimes to give you actual feedback rather than "omg maek dem kiss"

Make this AFTER the conflict in this story is finished. Don't do that BS thing that ameteur authors do and leave the story on a cliffhanger for a "sequel". Sequels are a NEW story with the same characters. So if Dashie and Will aren't semi-dealt with, Will isn't in Equestria and him and Scoots haven't tried anal then you aren't ready for a sequel.

Not really joking about anal. Poke dat plot boi.

2998382 I can't it's not butter!

Wat...?

Well tell that to the Dragonlance authors, cause all their books end on cliffhangers. :rainbowlaugh:

2999101 Drives me up the damn wall. End conflict, then start a new story.

I think a great example would be that one story about a guy who got trapped in Dashie's mind, then would take over for a while as Dashie. Eventually a LOT of shit happens and the story ends off with everything being wrapped up nicely and he gets his own pony body. The sequel deals with him being a new pony in society after being human. Dawn? I can't remember but my point stands. First problem was getting his consciousness out of Rainbow Dash and that was solved, sequel dealt with how he lives in Equestria.

So for this story to have a sequel, the (heavily debatable) Earth segment has to finish, relationship with Dashie gets solved, Scoots' role as marefriend gets resolved and whatever Earth has gets resolved.

"So why then does it seem like he's just as unsatisfied as ever?" will have him ended being satisfied before sequel. The the sequel can be him and his relationship with Scoots and the issues with that (which I TOTALLY look forward to seeing, along with anal.)

So you like sequels that are like episodes of a sitcom, or like the Harry Potter books?

I personally don't see why ending a story on a cliffhanger would be considered amateur. A lot of professional writers end their stories on cliffhangers especially if they have a big story to tell like Lord of the Rings.

2999579 Even Lord of the Rings pretty much has the three main solid points to get the story going, with a LOT of side plots to go through. You can still break the books down to:

- Get the Ring to Rivendell and start the journey. (Fellowship)
- Survive the battles and sieges and gather allies. (Two Towers)
- Get the Ring into Mount doom by ANY MEANS. (Return)

Yes there were connecting elements that brought all three books together but there is a clear tone, priority and conflict within all three books that separate themselves into three main entities.

Sure there could be story elements of Rainbow that can connect the two (like the social stigma of Scoots/Will, tension between Dashie and will for "what could have been") but slashing off the fic during Earth would be like saying "Here is Helms Deep, wanna see the next half? Read Return of the King"

I am suggesting this for the better. It makes for an entirely more satisfactory read when you can go from one story to the sequel expecting NEW ideas and a different tone.

Flamin cock tease. :scootangel:

You just made my day! Actually.... kinda my whole summer. But there's a story with that I swear! I really do have a life lmao.

ALL OF MY YES!!! (you have received x50:moustache:) SHUTUP AND TAKE MY STACHES!!!

I just hope that the sequel isn't a train wreck of emotions like this one. I can't handle another reading that makes me burst into tears again, as much as I love the emotional wild ride TFAR is.

But I know I'll read it anyways... so go for it! :rainbowlaugh:

THE WORLD NEEDS MORE OF THIS MAN!!!

An she needs some more too...:scootangel:
