Sympathy Series #3 Offical Title/Release Date AND Everfree Northwest! · 7:13am Apr 17th, 2015
Yes, it is finally happening. I feel like I am in a place where I can fully commit to getting this third and final(?) story in my Sympathy Series written and posted for those of you who enjoyed the other two to enjoy as well. I’ve been writing it on and off since 2013 under the working title ‘Deal’, but now I can come out with its true title: Dealing in Harmony.
In A Pony’s Sympathy, Twilight learned that chaos has a place in the world and both figuratively and literally helps keep the ponies’ world interesting. If the force of chaos has its place in Equestria, then why not the physical embodiment?
Discord in turn learned that while most of the world may see him one way, there are those who will help him provided he take that first step towards trust.
In Deja Discord Discord mostly learned how nice he has it as a spirit being, but he also learned about the ponies’ capacity for comradery, and how they will band together to help their own and don’t give up easily. He grew to admire that spirit, and even if the majority still won’t trust him, he ended up being willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice to at least help the few friends he had managed to find.
And while Twilight didn’t learn any big moral lessons in Deja Discord, she did learn more about where Discord came from and where he fits in the balance of Equestria. She also may have stumbled upon some new abilities and some growing feelings she was not quite ready to admit to just yet.
So, what is to come in Dealing in Harmony? Well, I’ve been working on what some of the major aspects are, and I have a few that are for sure set in stone, whereas other things I’m still working on, but I know I’d like to be able to take those parts I most enjoyed from the first two and the themes I found most relevant and not only bring them back into the fabric of the narrative, but perhaps plus them (if I can).
Some things I know for sure are:
-Twilight wants to find a way to get chaos (and therefore Discord) de-stigmatized.
-Tartarus is sealed and Cloudsdale’s back where it’s supposed to be.
-The ‘shock collar’ spell is still under affect except for Ponyville, meaning Discord can enter this one pony-populated area safely.
-Discord is addicted to chocolate milk now, probably.
-At the start of the story, it’s been exactly a year since the first chapter of aPS.
-Twilight is still figuring out her feelings, but they probably need to be sorted out sooner rather than later.
And I did say on my twitter (@ckattime ;P) that if fimfiction came back online within a few hours I’d announce a release date for the fic, or at least the first chapter. So here we are: Dealing in Harmony ch. 1 will be sent in and with-hope posted on May 19th.
That gives me about a month to get things ready, and I certainly hope you guys will still want to read it when it’s finally up.^^
Speaking of May; it hasn’t been officially announce yet, but I will be at Everfree Northwest again this year. BUT this time around I shall not only be officially on the writing track staff, but (if the announcement comes) I will be an official Community Guest as well(!)
So please, if you were thinking about attending Everfree this year in Seattle in May from the 29th to the 31st, I would highly recommend it. Not just cause I’ll be there, although I’d love to meet you all (or again, in some cases) but there are a smooze-ton of awesome people from the show AND the fandom set to attend and appear. Like Discord himself, JDL, and the #1 Discord fan girl ILoveKimPossibleAlot (I’m #2 though, right guys? Well, I’m at least in the top 5 :P). More people are being announced every week it seems.
I’m also helping judge the pre-con fan fiction contest, and I might be helping with the Iron Pony writing competition at the con, and I’ll definitely be on panels again like last year. I’d love to meet and shake the hands of some of the peeps who wrote some of these entries I’m reading. ^^
So, there are at least two things to expect from me in May. Don’t count those chickens yet, but I also miiiight have been trying to get back to working with my pal statoose over on the TSD audio book. So ya never know.

By the number of things one has contributed to the fandom (fanart, fics, videos, songs, discussions, public cosplays, etc.)? By the fame one has achieved? By the public enthusiasm? Number of times having watched the episodes he is in? Yeah, not possible or fair. So, for the lack of specific and fair measure to subject us all to, it's just better for everyone to be a winner!
