Learn to love the writing, of telling a story that you want told, and not the recognition that comes with it. When skill and passion atrophy, write for yourself, and in time, you'll inspire others.

    Calling all my Former Proofreaders

This goes out to everyone who has helped me with my stories these past few years. Firstly, thank you so much, I could never have gotten as far as I have without you. You've been inspirational, a pick-me-up, and oftentimes good friends when it came to what I was writing and dealing with, as have all the fans who have read my works. Again, I thank you all for being there with me through

    Commissions and Rules

Should I take them? I have been contacted in the past concerning them, though decided against it at the time, and would be tickled pink if people actually wanted me to do such. However, I would likely have a few ground rules.

An Honest Critique · 3:55pm Apr 15th, 2015

Hey all, just felt like asking you all a question. See, my writing abilities are more or less fueled by ADHD comments on my stories, be they good or not-so-good. Now, it's not that I'm desperate for comments or anything, but I was just wondering: what do you think of my work so far?

I've made myself a nice little place in this fandom, but having not been here as long as some, and not being the most avid reader of new fanfiction, I must ask: what attracts you to my stories? What makes them appeal to you, or in another light, makes you enjoy reading them? I'll confess I'm not the best writer out there, seeing as how I need proofreaders galore nowadays for my work to be "up to snuff" in my own eyes (and I'm incredibly okay with that). I like writing very much, and so, if you could take some time to comment which stories you liked best (or least), or why you like my writing, and why, I'd much appreciate it.

It doesn't have to be a 3 page essay: just a few clear and/or concise sentences would do.

I would have to say that it is the high attention to detail that I enjoy. My favorite story so far is A Dragon's Journey and I feel completely immursed when a new chapter comes out.

Okay. For me, in order to read any stories, the subject matter has to catch my interest. Please a very decent description/summary is necessary as well. Execution of concept is what keeps me there. Of the stories I follow, you pull this off beautifully, especially in 'Solar Eclipse'. There are other stories I liked, as well as waiting for the next chapter, that I can list, but I do not want to list spoilers.
I hope they helps a little bit.

Solar Eclipse

I think you meant Solar Embrace, but thank you for your insight.

You've herd of Kkat, I assume? If not they are the author of Fallout: Equestria, and a multitude of other great works. So what I'm saying is that Kkat is the Epitome of authors on fimfic, fanfic, and the world at large. He works hard to write stories, listens intently to feedback from readers, never says no to any help, and is constantly improving through practice. So yes, He ranks up there with J.K Rowling, J.R Tolkien, Christopher Paolini, and authors of such caliber.

I find you swiftly approaching his caliber.

And that is an honest, unbiased view, from someone who strives to be as good an author as people like you and him. In continuation, I find you better in some ways at the things above, like the intent involvement of readers and their feedback. Your works are stunning, you listen to us, your readers, for criticism (this very blog, for example), you practice frequently and are always open to a bit of hard realism to ground you and improve you, along with help you on your way. You understand the importance of editors and prereaders to help your finished works be better, and overall are a great writer.

This puts you at a high caliber that is swiftly approaching his and others overall. I often think of how detailed your works are and strive for such while writing my own, a sure sign of your competence in the field of creative writing.

As for your worries in the attraction factor of your stories, there is nothing to fear there. You are a well known author, and recommend you to everyone who asks for a well written story.

So quell your darker thoughts and insecurities about your writing, as there is no need.

Here's hoping you take this to heart,

May your enemies blood run rivers, and their gold fill your vaults,

Sincerely,

Leonz11 (AKA TheUltimateAnimeFan)

Can't quite put out into a proper critique how great an author you are while pointing out flaws.
