R.I.P. Stan Freberg (1926-2015) · 3:34am Apr 8th, 2015
Today the world lost an iconic satirist whose legacy spanned more than half a century. Stan Freberg.
Weird Al cited Stan Freberg as one of his inspirations to pursue a career in parody.
Freberg died of natural causes at a Santa Monica hospital. He was 88. I love just about everything Stan Freberg made. My favorite thing he did was Green Christmas, which mocks rampant holiday consumerism.
I can't fully convey how much Stan Freberg meant to me growing up and how sad I am that he's gone.
Stan Freberg never heard of him?
Damn. This year has taken so many good people.

I was still reeling over losing Terry Pratchett. Of course, his body of work largely focused on death, so when he died, there was something more comforting about it.

Stan Freberg voiced Junior Bear (age 7-and-a-half).
2959174 Doesn't ring any bells but all the same I am sorry to hear that he died.

He also voiced the underutilized character Pete Puma.

When someone you care about dies, it's not uncommon for a lump to form in your throat.
When Stan Freberg died, a whole lotta lumps formed in my throat.

That is simultaneously the funniest and saddest remark I've ever read.
oh man... I grew up with this amazing man's work. He helped shape my childhood...
I'm sad to hear he's gone.
