So recently I've been working on a new Star Swirl chapter. A very long one indeed. When working on it though, a thought occurred to me.
All the Star Swirl chapters feel as if they could have their own story. What I mean by this is that they do and yet they don't feel attached the main Lazarus plot. Instead, it feels as if it could be its own thing.
What do you guys think of that?
Would you like seeing a small side story/prequel to Lazarus dictating Star Swirl's adventures into uncovering the truth behind humanity? Or would you rather me continue with keeping them as short(sometimes long) journal entries which sort of kinda foreshadows the future?
Please let me know what you think
That would be nice, I mean, the Starswirl chapters never really advance the story, other than giving us a background on the story itself. Would be nice seeing this as a...
Wadda call it? Prelude, Prequel or...A side story.2953393 Tis be a prequel.
I skip the Starswirl chapters tbh so that'd be nice.
I also skip them, they do not interest me too much tbh.
Edit: The reason is you barely use any of it on the actual story, sure some of it comes into play but why the hell does it matter that something happened 1000 years ago if nobody remembers it and it's not relevant at all? Oh a mech came out of the japanese storage facility, big deal why do i need to know that if it's not relevant to the future?
2953398 It is be a prequel? ('Tis is a contraction, after all.)
But yeah, they'd be fine for a prequel or such, I like backstory in general so I read them even when they don't really do much for the main story as is, but I'm also the person who reads pretty much ever letter, log, audio and holo tape in the Fallout games if I can.
I guess cause I'm a knowledge whore.
tbh, I saw this from the beginning. Go for it; you'll never know until you try. Also, it would leave a lot of needed mystery as to certain actions taken by the characters in the main fic
probably best if it's a prequel or side story.

So if I were to go for it (as in making a separate fic), should I leave or transfer the previous chapters over to the newer one? Of course they'd need to be touched upon in order for it to flow correctly, or should I just start fresh and work up?
2954252 definitely transfer them. As for the touch ups and stuff, that's entirely up to you. If you feel like there's a plot hole that must be filled in, then do it.
Agree with the transfer, the entries are perfect the way they are. Trying to establish something new instead of using these original chapters might be off-putting to people who already accepted the events as canon
