CDL Training Update · 2:09am Apr 5th, 2015
So, as I said in my last blog post, I am currently going for my CDL. I am going through the company C.R. England. It is a reefer fleet of trucks. The truck I am currently training in is a Freightliner. It's not a bad truck. I am able to successfully use a manual shifter in the truck. That was one of the first things I learned how to do. I can do my pre-trip inspection. I am currently working on my 4-Point Break Inspection and my In-Cab + Tug Test. I have successfully Off-Set Backed the 73 foot vehicle as well as parallel parked the damn thing. Only thing I really have to work on is my Straightline Backing which is for some reason giving me issues. I guess we shall see what happens today. I have to be up at 4:00 AM, be on the bus by 4:45 AM, and be on the range by 6:30 AM. That is going to be my Schedule until Monday April 13th. From there I don't know what is going to happen before I actually start driving my 180 hours of driving OTR (Team National) Going to be working on all of my backing and safety checks again today. I'm going to try and work more on my Straightline than anything. Monday I have to be at the range at 6:30 AM and do my Pre-Trip Inspection before I head out on the road for Drive Training. Half the day for DT and then half the day Backing and Safety Checking my Tractor and Trailer.
