No, this isn't an April Fool's thing.
Tomorrow I'm leaving in the morning to drive down to California for BABScon, and I'll be picking up an art friend or two along the way. I'll be helping him set up in the vendor hall before meandering around like a lost child in a supermarket come Friday. I really don't know what I'll be doing then. Maybe I'll find a corner and try to write some stories or something after I exhaust my attention span going between the various booths. There's four writing panels scheduled during the convention, and only two of them I have any interest in. One has to do with harnessing creativity and the other is about making a story original. I'm not sure I agree with the apparent subject matter on that one, but it ought to be interesting nonetheless. Maybe I'll wander into a couple other random panels.
Saturday, there's the Season 5 premiere, which I'm really excited for. But other than that, I'll mostly be in a "fanfiction lounge" hosted by xjuggernaughtx sometime in the afternoon. I'll be bringing my laptop, some snacks, and Cards Against Humanity Way Too Many Cards Edition for some fun times. If you want to snap photos of a wild animal outside its natural habitat, I'll be there for most of Saturday and probably Sunday too.
Then come Monday, I'll be driving back up to good ol' Oregon. If for some reason you'd want to meet me (and I honestly don't know why you would) and can't make it to BABScon, there's always Bronycon.
