As the tin says, this is a short sequal idea I have. There's an outline and a few paragraphs written, but nothing more.

Along Came A Fox
Vulpa, a Fox Spirit and Master of the Forges, arrives in Ponyville to offer her smithing skills to paying customers. And ends up setting her sights on a certain Apple mare. How will Holo react to this?

"Holo, you said Vulpa was your cousin, but she said she's a fox. How exactly does that work?" Twilight asked looking very perplexed.
The wolfish mare sighed, then turned to face the young scholar. "There is no actual blood between her and I. We are cousins in Spirit."
"So she's your cousin in the sense that coyotes, foxes, and wolves are all canids and that she's a Spirit like you?" Twilight asked tilting her head.
"Yes, hence me referring to Vulpa as one of my annoying younger cousins," Holo replied then arched an eyebrow at the young scholar, "You can be quite dense for one so bright."
Twilight just glowered at the teasing remark.
"Which brings up the real problem with my younger cousin visiting," Holo said suspiciously as she looked out one of the library's windows.
"And what might that be?" Twilight asked arching an eyebrow.
"My younger cousins cannot be trusted," Holo said narrowing her eyes as she caught sight of a black tipped orange tail between buildings, "It is in a fox's nature to cause mischief most troublesome and they are not ones to deny their nature."
"Mischief like Pinkie and Rainbow Dash's pranks?" Twilight asked uncertain how the polite and well spoken mare she met earlier could be as bad as Holo was making her sound.
"Such things would be the least of my concern," Holo replied with a soft snort of disdain.
Twilight rolled her eyes at the response, "Then what kind of trouble do you think Vulpa will cause?"
"Foxes typically take romantic interests where they should not," Holo said frowning as she looked for her black wool vest.
Hmm, Vulpa said she was a blacksmith so logically she'd go to where her skills are most needed like shoeing or fixing farming..., Twilight thought, before realization dawned on her. "Applejack!" Twilight gasped.
"Precisely," Holo replied slipping on her black wool vest, "Come, I would rather arrive first and not catch that vixen in a situation that requires me to bear my fangs."

Yes, I ran the simulations and this could work and still be mostly in character. It would be a short story though. Possibly around ten chapters with only one major story arc. Vulpa would be loosely based/inspired by Inari, the well known fox Kami whose domain includes smithing and metal working. So Vulpa being a smith and a fox Spirit wouldn't conflict at all. With her chatacter I'm mostly planning on using the traditional trickster fox Spirit as an archetype.
Before anyone asks: THERE WILL BE NO REFERENCE TO THE STUPID NINJA ANIME. Yes, I can't stand Naruto. It's just a preference thing so shut up.
Anywho, this will be put on the back burner so don't expect it any time soon. I still have that Octa-Mafia thing to finish and the sunbutt clop to write. Plus a fic for a certain friend who i sent a very rough draft last week. Along with maybe accepting a request in the next month or two. We'll see...
Now the real question you should ask is:Is today April Fool's?

I'm rather fond of foxes. Always have been. My interest in the kyuubi, despite Naruto being go-to for it, stems from Okami.
