Where am I going? What am I doing?

So, the show is officially over. I've given my well wishes and thanked everyone. The ending did get to me. I wasn't fond of the epilogue, but I loved the 2 part finale.

Anyways, I wanted to give a heads up on what is going on.

Where the hay are the updates?

Long time no-post, I guess. To put it blunt, I feel burned out on writing. This isn't to say I give up, but more that updates are gonna be exceedingly slow for a bit as I'm dealing with real life stuff at the moment. I'm in my final semester of college, and the 2nd to last class is really working me over. I hope I can pass the class. Still, there is a bit of doubt in my mind as the material

Well that took a long time

Opened my mail today to see that Diary of the Banished got rejected from The Royal Guard. I expect rejection anymore, yet what surprised me was the fact I got an actual response with some critiques. At this point, I fell ambivalent towards the criticisms. It's through writing that I get a great sense of pleasure and crave this type of interaction to better myself as a writer. It is through

    Slow Updates (Possible Mini-Hiatus)

To reiterate what was stated in the previous blog, real life comes first. Though it's only two classes, I'm really engrossed with one class that requires a good 75% of my attention due to its difficulty. Story update wise, I have some concept down for Diary of the Banished and Full Bloom.

    Updates coming

I want to apologize to the readers who are expecting updates to several of my stories. Real life comes first, as is the motto, so I'm having to put off my stories for a little bit. With all of that being said however, there are updates coming. After my finals next week, I will have some free time to start working on my stuff again.

Time for a blog/update/post/whatever for those that are curious. I thought it would be appropriate since I want to give an idea of what is on the table for this amateur writer. Long story short, things have changed. I got a job, didn't like it, and I quit the job. My current notion is to go back to school and use my degree to get something under my belt to find more meaningful employment. Also, I'll be taking some writing courses to hopefully make my material even better, though I doubt it will have any type of outcome on me since my material gets rejected when submitted.

Onto the more important parts:

1. Diary of the Banished - I've mentioned this story before on several different websites. It's one that's rather special to me, near-and-dear to my heart since it's the first real story I made. The concept started after the 3rd episode of Season 2 and grew from that small seed of an idea. Part of me had a big fear it would be rejected because of how I made the protagonist. This fear kept me from releasing the story since I want it to be the greatest story I ever made. That was a mistake. To fix this error, the story has been toyed with over several years to its current state. I'm in a final push to re-write all of the chapters, so I can push them out before the end of S5. My original desire was to make this story very memorable like Fallout Equestria, Past Sins, Anthropology, and other great works. Again, I see this was a mistake since that can never happen with my material.

To sum it up, making sure this doesn't drag out, Diary of the Banished will be released here shortly. The Prologue has been 100% re-written. Chapter 1 is in the 2nd re-write phase with Chapter 2 having been 100% re-written. Chapter 3 will take some work since I have to do side-by-side works to reference my material.

2. Closet Pony - Though it is mentioned in the story's info section, I want to say this story will have a slow update period while I re-write my DotB story. The next chapter is getting there, but it needs a massive re-write to smooth things out. An update may or may not come next week, possibly coming the week after that. I want to progress the protagonist + the CMC in a good direction, adding more danger to the scenario vs the current mundane events.

3. A Donkey's conundrum (WIP Title) - Right now, this is a release story to get me away from re-writes and relax a bit. I'm tempted to flush out this story with a sort of No Game No Life idea behind it with my character Soapbox. I'd like to showcase him in a stronger light, giving him more unique depth vs him just being whinny about the fact he isn't a pony. The story involves him going up against the lord of chaos in a battle of wits, hopefully that won't spoil too many things. I'm re-watching the No Game No Life show to get an idea on how to make some intricate foreshadowing events, so that when the story wraps up it has that "eureka" style feeling to it.

4. Mature Story - This one I haven't touched and reserved for myself for quite some time. I talked about it here and there, and I think it's time I started on it. In regards to this story however, it won't come for quite some time, possibly in June or July.

Also, just putting it out there, I would love to find a pre-reader/proof reader for my DotB story. At the moment, I have no hope of getting my story on EQD, but I would like to give it the best possible chance.
