I feel like I should write something.

Dunno what, not a continuation of any of my stories yet, just something to prime the pump. The plump pump. The pleasantly plump pump of doom.

On the art of Not Writing.

I've been in a weird limbo for the last couple of years. The simplest, and maybe even the most honest thing to say is that I've lost interest in writing, but that doesn't feel right to say. I have lost my interest, but I still want to be interested. I've wondered if maybe it's time to move on from MLP, but I don't know what I'd even move on to.

I like to ride my bicycle, I like to ride my bike.

    So.

Yesterday I decided that I wanted to take my shiny new mountain bike mountain biking. I obtained it through perfectly legal means (no, really) about two months ago and so far I'd only really used it for grocery shopping. Yeah, there was that one trip in the mountains about a week after I bought it, but that was only one trip and I'm getting fat.

    It really is.

Twilight Sparkle was humming to herself as she placed the last skull at one of the points of the pentagram on her basement floor when Rainbow Dash walked in, surveyed the candle-lit scene, said “Uh...” and backed slowly out again.

Twilight looked at the empty doorway, looked down at the pentagram, looked back up, connected the dots, and scrambled to catch up with her friend.

It really is. · 6:05am Mar 15th, 2015

“Wait! It's not what it looks like!” She darted another glance back over her shoulder. “Okay, it's exactly what it looks like, but it's not evil! Unless you think it looks like demon summoning, because that is both evil and not what I'm doing! This is just necromancy! I didn't murder anypony for the skulls either! Or go graverobbing! They're on loan from Canterlot University and harvested from ponies who donated their bodies to science!”

Twilight charged through the door at the top of the stairs and out into the main floor of her shiny new crystal treehouse. She skidded to a stop and screamed into the empty air, “IT'S A LEGITIMATE SCHOOL OF MAGIC!”

Love this. You should put it in your minific collection if you have one.

Hmm... Now I want to know what Twilight was trying to accomplish

... Many of my D&D characters have had this exact problem.

"Look, we're already killing the monster, I don't see the problem with reanimating its corpse as a tool to help protect people and kill more dangerous monsters."

Since it's Twilight, probably contacting the spirit of a knowledgeable dead pony for information.

Good lord... maybe that is how she got the bells right on her Starswirl costume!

"Now Spike, you know you can't judge a book by its cover."

*Spike stares unto the face of the Necronomicon.*

Gosh, she's adorable when she's delving into the dark arts... :twilightsheepish:

Source for this pic?

2879071 Idea! :pinkiegasp:

2879309 I just got it off derpibooru. It didn't have a proper source.

I love that idea.

I'm sure Celestia herself lent Twilight that book.

... The top one or the bottom one? They're both great ideas. Either way, thanks.

The important thing with the first one is to always destroy your spare skeletons when you're going to raise a new more powerful one that might put you over your limit, so they don't go on violent rampages.

But if you mean Twilight consulting with the great minds of the pony past via necromancy, it really does make a lot of sense, in character, provided necromancy doesn't involve sentient sacrifice or anything. We already know she was willing to use dark magic to beat Sombra.

She just seems to me to be the type of pony who, at the very least, would like to study any kind of magic/science, no matter how "dark" it may appear just for the heck of it. Like, if a talking snake knew how Pinkie Sense works, she will force past her fear of snakes just to listen.

There's actually a fic along these lines: Rainbownomicon.

Twilight's attempt goes off the rails from moment one, and ends up wrapping around through the Argand plane. I was amused.
