Another of these little update posts, hopefully the last I'll need to make for Chapter Four.
Part Two is most of the way written now, and had it been as short as I had anticipated, it would have been up around the middle of last week. It's ended up being a bit longer than the 3-4 thousand word addendum I had initially planned, and it might end up giving the nigh-7000-word Part One a run for its money in terms of length. Hell, it may even end up longer - point is, this has wound up being the size of another full chapter, and the only reason I'm not just biting the bullet and calling it Chapter Five is my slightly OCD desire to make every micro arc of the story take three chapters, even if 'three' is code for 'four in all but name'.
The events of this one stand to be almost as important for Chrysalis's psyche as the first chapter's Twilight incident was, although for quite a different reason. It's almost certainly going to go in a direction many of you might not expect from a simple conversation with Celestia, and some of my choices in how I tell this particular part are a little different from what I have done thus far. No perspective changes or anything like that, but some of the internal monologue gets a little... odd, to say the least. I'm not sure it quite goes full-on unreliable narrator, but it's certainly close at some points.
So, yeah: expect weirdness, and expect it soon. Maybe 1500-2500 words to go, then editing, and then you'll have the chapter. I'm getting back into the swing of things again after being bogged down in work for the past month, so hopefully I can keep going like this.
