Do you have a character you headcanon as trans?

And that no amount of canon evidence will convince you otherwise?

    Happy Pride Month!

Aight, first pride out of the trans closet. I should probably add some serious words. Maybe share my own experience coming out twice in my 30's, and overall try and reach people either on a similar situation, or open the space for each one to talk about their experience too.

But honestly, it's been a low energy day, so enjoy this meme and if you feel like sharing, I'm all ears:

    Looking back...

Maybe there were signs about being trans I should have paid attention to.

Sylveon being a trans icon since the beginning

Today I learned that Sylveon's type was a debate before it was revealed they were the new fairy type. And in a way, that feels like the most trans way to reveal the little gender 'mon.

Sylveon literally went through an speculation phase before coming out.

2015

It's official now. I'm Wave Blaster, fanboy, Chilean and finally, after all this time, a Writer · 8:29pm Mar 10th, 2015

If I ever make a self-insert OC, from now on, THAT is its cutie mark.

It was night and the Princesses sisters were sitting in front of the debris with horns and eye glowing as they combined magic auras covered the pieces of Discord statue. Meanwhile Twilight was completely silent behind them with her Element of Magic on her head, also Applejack was pacing back and forth as Rarity and Rainbow Dash were looking in every direction as expecting that Discord would appear anywhere and Pinkie Pie was trying to calm down Fluttershy. Everyone has their respective Element of Harmony around their necks, and ready to use them at the first sign of Discord.

Nice, isn't it? You can almost feel the lack of practice and the absence of any form of training in those lines. My first ones.

Since I joined this site, I usually present myself as a wannabe writer. More than self deprecation, it was my way to admit that I still had a lot to do, learn and understand before becoming a true writer.

Over the time, I've doing my homework and growing my body of work. At the moment of this writing I have twelve stories under my pen, of which at least two are break-outs (TCB: Judgement Day and Stay). Also, in the long runners (all those that aren't labeled as finished) you can see how I improved over the time.

But you know what? It's finally over.

When I signed up for the Harmonists' Contest "It's impossible" I made myself a promise. This was going to be my coming of age project. I was going to prove to myself that I was finally a writer, and a good one, damn it!

Guess what, I got third place.

I wrote something that managed to get liked the three different judges and that competed with other six fics and I still got the bronze.

This is my personal Crowning Moment of AWESOME! right next to Stay's Rage Review with a 00% of rage.

I want to thank you all, readers, editors, authors, reviewers. This has been a long path that started almost two years ago and, thanks to you, I earned the right to call myself, a Writer.

Thank you.

Now, let's forget all those pretenses of austerity and let the MUSIC! flow:

Great to hear man! Glad you've had such success!

Correct me if I'm wrong... but weren't you a writer since 13th Jul 2013? I mean, stringin' the words together and all that...

Anyhoo, glad you're happy, and all that jazz. I hope your next project will garner even more success, and hopefully you'll be ready for some of the stuff I have in store for mid-march, too. And next time, I might be able to join in too.

Congratulations, very nicely done. Always good when something wonderfully unexpected like that happens!

Looks like we tied. You and I, we are not so different. We both have a certain fondness of a showmare and we both are excellent writers. Let us shake hands, worthy adversary....

....

....

And....friend.

Whooooooooo!! Whoooo! Woo.

Well, is more of an insistent terminology. You see, when I first stepped in, I was dazzled by all the creativity and inspiration here, but also by the quality. All of that was far beyond of what I could do at the time so, in a sign of respect to others and to admit my own limits, I refused to call myself a full-writer.

Basically, this whole "contest project" was my own coming of age story.

Thanks. I'll finish the edits tonight and announce it tomorrow.

2866056 I know the feeling. I myself was in the same situation, what, about eight months ago, when I started.

Truth be told, I still don't see myself as a writer. Engineering is my true calling: this is just a really fun hobby I take very seriously.

2866063
I don't know pal, seeing your body of work I can see a lot of well accomplished stories and, taking care of part of The Harmonists is not a small feat. If you allow me to give you my opinion, I would say that you can safely call yourself a writer too.

2866072 A very serious hobby.

In all fairness, though, so far I'm practically unable to write long stories. I managed 20K, but much further and... splat.

I don't mind, though. I think my one-shots are great, especially the recent ones.

...if you're looking for ways to improve yourself dramatically, I'd suggest challenges. Like, complex things that are hard to get on paper. Typically, when you have a serious obstacle to overcome, you push yourself a lot harder, and further, whether you mean to or not.

Pretty much all of the stories on my 'most proud of' list have some sort of challenge in there. I learn a lot from each and every one.

2866078
I know what you're talking about. When I wrote Stay it was entirely unknown soil for me. It was interesting.

2866084 Have you tried subversions yet? They're really fun.

2866208
Well, I don't know. I was just referring to the fact that I'm finally a writer with all its letters.

So far, the closest I have come tho doing a self insert is Shrapnel as my author avatar in Stay. Bur doesn't do that much beyond being a deadpan snarker.

2866467
Let me guess, he shot first.

2866473 Its okay. He shot down The Mst3k crew and Trixie
