A Stranger's Kindness · 12:25pm Jul 8th, 2012
So I've endeavored to follow a new philosophy based around the principle:
"A stranger's smallest kindness shines a light on even the darkest day."
Basically, no matter how bad a day you're having, the smallest act of kindness by a random stranger on the street makes you feel tremendously better. I endeavor to BE that stranger and show some manner of kindness to everyone I meet and encourage others to do the same. Yes, I know that this is not always entirely possible, and some people are dicks and will react badly, but that's not the point of it. The point of course being that even if you're miserable and angry other people are too, and if you can turn that day around through some act on your part than your own life will improve, perhaps not physically but knowing you helped someone for no reason at all has to count for something right?
You, sir, are awesome.
It's a similar philosophy to what I go by too. I also go by something else that I learned.
"Wisdom is knowing you have no wisdom, thus you attain it."
Hope this helps!
Good for you, things like that is why humanity isn't a total failure yet.
