[Update] Changes · 3:42am Mar 7th, 2015
Chapter four went up today, after I spent a total of five hours working on it from start to finish. It felt right, so I went with it. But it wasn't until a short while ago that I noticed the direction the story had taken. Truth be told, I only noticed it due to the comments I received and the implications I had accidentally put in.
Due to the slightly dark area that Humility has now explored, I've decided to make a couple changes to the story as a whole. Not in regards to editing the content, but the classification. The actions shown in chapter four are unbecoming of a story rated Everyone, and I'm not so dumb as to deny that. So, the [Alternate Universe] tag has been added (it's gonna be asked of EQD anyway I'm sure), and the story's rating has been heightened to Teen.
I don't intend to add any harsh language in this tale, however. It can do a lot without speaking - shown in "Seeing Red" already - so I don't want to tarnish the raw emotion with a swear word, regardless of vulgarity. That's what I realize this story is: an exploration of emotion. I'm referring to the Kübler-Ross model more and more as I draft my ideas, and those stages are pure emotions and reaction. I know full well that people who actually experience the Stages of Grief might rely on harsh language as an outlet; regardless, I want to see what I can do without it.
So in other words: physical harm is on the table for Humility, but not enough to warrant Gore triggers. Anger and destruction is more mature than I had set out to do, but I will avoid vulgar language. I expect to experience an evolution of characters, much like I did with Rainbow Dash in RwR (notice how she said "damn" late in the story?). But such an evolution is far more internal, and should be filled with self-discovery. Not so much outside influence or big world-changing events.
As for suicidal tendencies? Well, self-destruction like this is probably as far as I'll go. If we see Discord punching any more trees, it'll likely be in a Minecraft parody.

I'll be honest, I kind of want to see an artist's interpretation of the damaged tree limb now.
