Editors Sought · 12:01am Mar 5th, 2015
I tried to submit Dangerous Sparkle to Equestria Daily and was told the first few chapters weren't up to snuff in terms of... well I'm not a hundred percent sure, but it read like things an editor would fix. Anypony up for digging vigorously through the first ten chapters of A Dangerous Sparkle?
Thanks,
David/Rough Draft
There's the sort of editing that's just fixing typos and punctuation errors.
There's also the kind of editing that rearranges - or even rewrites - sections of a narrative to make things flow more smoothly and sound more natural; a "stylistic" editor, if you will.
Are you talking about the former, or the latter?
Are you encouraging us to be extra picky and mean? That door is hard to close once it's open

2850005 I am encouraging you to be mean and picky and tear up the ramshackle hut I put up so quickly and put it back down in a more appealing fashion. I have little true ego when it comes to this. I use editors for my professional stuff and expect my syntax to be utterly destroyed.
2850149 You said they objected specifically to the first 10 chapters, correct?
2850161 The editor said he read the first four, to be precise, but why not do the first ten to be safe?
2850149 Typo in blog title. Sought, not saught.
2850336 Oh the irony of it all!
2850339 Hmm, is it just me, or do you look...younger?
2850522 I blame Luna.
Can you read .docx formatted documents?
2850567 I sure can!
Silver Lining is cute, but I think Rough Draft looks more...author-ish.
2850601 I go with my feelings. It hasn't steered me wrong so far! I'm sure they'll flip flop back around in time.
