Hey readers!
For those of you who've read my main story, you might have read how a reformed Sombra successfully proposed to Celestia, making them engaged.
I will be finishing my side-story soon and when I do, I'm thinking I wanna do their wedding, replacing the Summer sun Celebration Celestia had Twilight partake in.
Still, I realize this has to be done delicately, and I'm not sure how to do that. In my mind, I see the friends in Ponyville getting wedding invitations for Celestia and Sombra's wedding when the weeds of Discord's plunderseeds run amok. Twilight and Midnight go to Canterlot to speak with the royals only to find Sombra by himself trying to keep the ship running smoothly. he explains Celestia and Luna left to take care of the situation and asked Sombra to hold the fort while they're gone but he hasn't heard from them in a while.
There's some drama here, not just from the upcoming wedding but from Twilight and Midnight from their friends. I recall that moment in the episode where the girls thought Twilight should go back to town, saying they couldn't afford to lose her - I really didn't like that because it seemed to me, they were seeing a crown first and their friend second.
Anyway, if anyone has suggestions, i'm all ears
I really like this, a nod to your own continuity without fundamentally altering the plot of the episodes. Only issue I see is that if Sombra is running the fort without Luna and Celestia, and with both Midnight and Twilight being royalty at that point, I can't see the group getting as overly worried about 'losing another princess' as before, since there are still 3 left (not including Cadance because
no one likes her anywayshe is in the crystal empire the whole time). Perhaps Sombra could get taken after explaining the situation and the elements and the guardians are split up in different positions in the forest, this way each group only has the one royal member to worry about and thus will worry more.2841257 Well, Sombra can't leave Canterlot without a ruler and so asks Twilight and Midnight to look for the sisters. They go back to Ponyville, round up their friends, go to Everfree, dangerous siutations have the friends think Twi and Mid should go back.
Now, here's where Midnight get's pissed - He's angry his friends treat him and Twilight differently because they're royalty now so he forces them to go back to Ponyville and goes it alone into Everfree (he teleported them)
I guess the majority of the issue will be, if Twilight will be understanding or not of what happened to Midnight. I mean, he did have a child without her, and who knows what else. "Only you." Anyway, maybe have that chapter resolve some left over negative emotions. Funny idea though, when the magic gets Blueblood and Rarity, They give each other the worst mane cuts. Just an idea.
