Recently, I've been considering my fic 'The Story Retold'
For those of you who've read it, you know it's another redone version of the show with an OC along with more characters in the limelight, each contributing to the story, changing it somehow, etc.
I got into my side-story "A Midnight Stroll Through Time" for the purpose of answering some questions about the main one, and having passed the half-way point, I'm considering my work's future.
I am honestly getting tired of my side-story but I've come too far to nix it and like I said, its purpose is to answer some important questions, some of which will be complicated, weird, and just-plain 'wow, didn't see that coming'.
What I have planned should have some impact on the characters themselves once they hear the whole story from my OC Midnight Blaze, the particulars of his journey, and what they learn might disturb them, particularly Twilight, partly of what it explains about Midnight himself and how Princess Celestia is involved.
i dropped this spoiler to one of my readers when they queried about the Hooded Pony (who turned out to be an alicorn Midnight) - That The Hooded Pony (being Alicorn Midnight) is the biological brother of Twinken
A few readers questioned how this was possible, especially when I showed the Hooded Pony visiting a mare in Canterlot Hospital and calling her 'mother'.
I think I'm not exaggerating when I say, that the truth at the root of all this is stranger than this story's fiction.
What I'm getting at here, is after the big truth is told how could it affect the future of the main story? I intend to go along with Season 4, and eventually I admit Cheese Sandwhich will join the cast. Another reason i got into the side-story to begin with was because I'm waiting for Season 5. Once this side-story is over with, I'll return my focus to the main story, and while I'm working on it i'll take in Season 5 episodes as they come, and try to figure out how Season 5 will compare with my plans.
Meaning, once i'm through with Season 4, will I go along with Season 5? Or will i completely branch away from it and come up with an entirely new storyline? The main story is an alternate universe of the canon's Equestria, therefore it's a distinct possibility.
Anyway, here's a free spoiler for the next arc - Midnight is getting much closer to his proper time and winds up in Manehatten but is still in the past (think of it as New York back in the 1930s) and he messes up history simply by being a good citizen and has to commit a crime to fix the boo-boo he made in the timeline.
