Should I write a fanfic?

I've been debating on whether or not I should write a fanfic. I mean now that I have access to a good computer, I can easily do stuff like this. I'm not a writer though. But at the same time, I do wonder how good one of my "ideas" would be. Don't expect the next Past Sins or anything.

If you don't have an idea yet, then let the desire fester until you come up with one. Otherwise, it'll be empty words on a page. Also, sit down and do some free-writing. That is, whatever comes to mind, write it down. Silly, cohesive, spelled wrong, whatever. Just pen it. Eventually, you'll come across a concept in there that begins to drum up ideas and things that fit. It's also wonderful just to let off some steam.
