Ducktales: Remastered Review · 7:19pm Feb 18th, 2015
I don't that much about Ducktales growing up. I remember watching the movie a lot but that was about it. I heard the original NES game was suppose to be good though I never played it.(I wasn't around for that generation).
Story:
After the Beagle Boys attempted to rob the Money Bin, Scrooge finds the locations of five ancient treasures and goes on an adventure to find them. Its a simple story but I like the fact that every level has it's own story. It's also not that long and you might blaze through it in a few hours.
Gameplay
The special gimmick for this 2D platformer is the pogo-cane. It's the main weapon and way of getting around, although it does need some getting use to as some parts of the game require you to use it. My favorite being using it and the seaduck that jump out of water and use them to get over pits.
This game is also pretty hard as it uses a life system and the enemies will respawn even after you just beat them, which makes some parts very annoying(like any area that has ghosts). Also I really don't like the Amazon level, damn plants
In terms of difficultly I recommend playing on hard as it seems to be the most fair.
Presentation
It looks great. All the sprites look like a cartoon and the animation looks flawless. The 3D scenery looks great although the first level looks boring.
The voice acting is spot-on with some funny lines that made me smile. And the music is as good as anyone says it is with the Moon theme being super awesome(Although I keep hearing the Brentalfloss song for it where I hear it.)
Verdict
This is a solid game with little to no complaints. It's a solid game in its own right and might encourage me to watch some old DuckTales.
