    Leaving for a bit

If you're reading this, I'm off on a long, long field exercise, for a few months, and I won't be able to answer. Don't worry, I'm not dead. I'll be back as soon as I can.

    The Rain Recedes

Well, it's been nearly six months since the last update, but I'm considering shutting down "Tales of the Rainmaker". Someone pointed out a lot of flaws in the story that are too well engrained to fix. Part of me wants to continue, because I want to tell her story, but at the same time, that reviewer was right.

My Little Pony: The Movie. A (non)spoiler Review (spoilers after the break)

I just got done watching The My Little Pony Movie and I was so excited I just had to write this. Okay, so this first bit will be spoiler free, and I’ll leave the spoilery bits below the break.

Need a long term editor for "The Secret of Ponyville"

No, this thing isn't dead. The entire plot is written out in a neat three arc format, I just need to fill in the details. The problem is I'm struggling to get a lot of the scenes to hit just right, and early on I relied heavily on input from Web of Hope as he

Disappearing soon/Duty Calls · 4:53pm Feb 18th, 2015

Okay so, I can’t remember what sort of promises I’ve made to anyone, but I’ve been on hiatus for a while now, and it’s time for an announcement. I’ve heard the military calling my name for a while now, and I’ve decided to step up. I’ve been communicating with a recruiter for the past month or so, and on March 2nd I ship off for Marine Corps Boot Camp.

Basically what that means for you lot is at least another 13 weeks of not hearing from me. However, since I’m entering four years of active duty, I have no idea when I’ll be able to access a computer long enough to write much. I don’t want to accept it, but the reality is that this may well be my last contact with all of you for a while. No more updates on anything.

I’ve been working hard to update everything I have, but I’ve made little progress. I’m sorry, guys. I didn’t come up with anything. If I’ve made anyone a promise for reviewing a story of theirs, send me a PM to remind me, and I’ll make sure to look at it before I leave.

The sad part is I’ve been pulling away from mlp for a while now, just hanging on because I have friends here. Even if I do gain access to a computer during my time as a Marine, I will most likely not be spending it on ponies. And by the time I’m finished with the military, this fandom will have grown old, and most of you will probably have moved on as well. I probably won’t even be able to go to Bronycon this year. I’m sorry to say it, but this might have to be goodbye.

Anything yet unfinished, is probably going to remain so, and any new ideas will never see light. For those of you eagerly awaiting the conclusion to The Pony On The Wall, worry not. While I may never finish it, I do get one weekend after bootcamp to spend as a civilian. If I’ve made up my mind at that point to quit writing for this fandom, I’ll release my full notes for the ending to that story, so you can at least fill in the blanks, and answer some questions. I know it’s not the actual chapters, but it’s something, and it’s what I have. I hope it’s enough.

I want to thank all of my enthusiastic readers for sticking with me thus far, and for pushing two of my stories to the feature box. That was truly a privilege as an author and I can’t thank any of you enough. I would most like to thank Web of Hope for his help on many of the stories that saw daylight. Thank you, all of you, and farewell. I venture boldly forth to new horizons.

Ponies or no, I hope you'll be safe for the next four years.

You're a great author, and you'll be missed. But you made lots of us here a Fimfiction happy, but I guess all things have to end.

And it's admirable that you're serving your country.

Goodbye.
-A stranger, and one of your many followers.

Oh... well, damn. I had no idea. I'm a bit lost for words.

I can't argue with your decisions, of course. If it's what you want to do, you can do it. If you don't think you'll be much into ponies soon, then that's down to you as well. Lord knows I can't tell you what to do. It does kind of suck that stories may not be completed, and you might drop out of the fandom as well, but I can respect your decisions.

It is a shame we've come to this. I don't know you a whole lot, but I enjoy your stories and writing. It will suck to see you leave, certainly. But, whatever your decision is, I wish you the best of luck. If I don't ever see you again, then this is indeed farewell. If not, then there's that.

Whichever it is, it was – and still is – nice knowing you. Good luck in your journey.

Such is the way of fandoms as we all know these things end as things go south, but there's no reason to say it will ever die out completely as communities tend to persist when folks truly enjoy what they are. It will just depend if that community is worth staying around.

Anyways, I met you right before you went on hiatus and we haven't talked much at all since, but I do consider you a friend here, so keep in touch when you can.

- Rego

Sad to see ya go, but hey, we all understand the feeling when you're just not as big a fan of something as you used to be, and it's admirable that you're serving your country.

It's been good, man. Do great things, and save some lives, 'kay?

If I’ve made up my mind at that point to quit writing for this fandom, I’ll release my full notes for the ending to that story

Well, I guess I hadn't made up my mind to quit the fandom. Plus a new season of pony to watch when I got to MOS school didn't hurt. I'm active again and the words are flowing. No promises on release dates but they grow closer by the week.
