You see it right there. 500 likes.
Good gods, I just started the second season! The second season! I haven't even so much as sniffed the third or fourth yet, and this is where we're at?!
I'm gonna really look forward to how high this story gets, then. If this somehow breaches 1k, I'll be elated, even if that means Tia will be under more scrutinizing eyes than before.
...aaaand that now sounds slightly intimidating. Now I have real work cut out for me.
But before I go, Tia's got a fan mail question to answer.
"Why does Twilight act like disappointing you in any way would truly be The Worst Possible Thing even if it could be reasonably explained? Is this related to her fear of being sent back to magical Kindergarden?" ~A bird that should be dead if it did its job right
"Twilight's biggest fear is losing my favor enough to the point where she's not my student any longer. It's certainly a fear that's well-founded, and I won't lie and say there hasn't been a few times where I wondered just how much merit Twilight had simply beyond her magical ability, and if it was worth keeping her as my student.
Then I remembered my best alternative was Nostril Picasso, and decided to keep my odds with Twilight.
However, her need to keep my favor is probably a negative side effect of her being my personal student. She's grown amazingly attached to me to the point of seeing me in as much a motherly view as Spike does. Second mother is a term that comes to mind here, and her clinginess demands that she also make sure she is always seeking to impress or learn to show me she is making progress.
The problem is she overdoes things sometimes, and that causes problems and disappointment more than praise and admiration. This reached a point where I realized she only really had two friends that weren't her parents: Spike, and me. Hardly becoming of a student who I aimed to make a princess, so the best solution I could think of was to expose her to more friends and a world outside of books and towers.
I probably shouldn't have picked Ponyville, though. That place has a panic attack once a week, and that ends up spreading everywhere else, feels like. But it's too late to double back on that when she already made the friends she did, so I'm in it for the long haul now."
Hee hee. Yep, she definitely is.
...and so am I.
Congratulations, that's a pretty high number for such a new story. There are many stories by more popular authors here that don't get that many likes, so it's nothing to sneeze at. It's a decent work so it deserves the love.
Responses to a Disgruntled Friendship Student, which some people have accidentally confused this story with, didn't even break the 600 likes mark over a much longer period. Here is hoping this story ends up surpassing it.
171 days since the last mining accident and counting!
I'm sure a couple thousand people interested in her letters won't stress her much than dragons and Diamond Dogs constantly breathing on her neck. Not to mention having to deal with a certain student.
