I have no idea where this story is going to take itself right now. I'm starting to think I myself am just a passenger along for the ride. Personally I don't see a problem with that. I intended the entire story except for the end to take place at the concert hall and in the past but then chapter 3 and 4 happened.
Those chapters made me realize something. Stories aren't written in stone from conceptualization, they are living things that change and evolve constantly. Three Years Gone will end soon. That is my promise. I'll be releasing chapter 5 in the next couple of days. After that I'm going to write the last three chapters of Three Years Gone and release those all over a weekend, 24 hours apart. Chapter 5 will be short but contain many answers. Chapters 6, 7 and 8 will be longer.
I truly hope that this story hasn't disappointed anyone. That isn't to say that I expect everyone to like it, but those of you who have read all of the chapters so far I certainly am sorry if I've taken it in a direction you don't like. I never really intended Three Years Gone to be the average Vinyl and Octavia story though.
Most OctaScratch stories I've read go by the following formula
1. Vinyl and Octavia are musicians
2. They hate each other
3. They're forced to work together
4. Lesbian pony sex
5. Octavia's parents don't approve or society sucks
6. They don't care and live happily ever after
In addition the titles often reference musical terms.
I'm not saying this is bad, I'm saying that my story is different.
They're still musicians but they never hated each other in my story and Octavia's parents are an issue and society doesn't care. I don't reference music terms either because that's just cliche. Most of all, though, the biggest difference from this formula is that I can't promise a happy ending. That's part of the reason for the 'dark' tag. In the end, maybe the universe will leave them alone, but for now bad things will keep happening to them and, occasionally, something shockingly horrible will happen. My story isn't grimdark, it will very much, by the end, anyway, be on the light side of dark.
Finally, to better answer User_Name555's question of "What the fuck just happened?" on chapter four. Actually, my answer of "I have no idea" is pretty close to the truth. I promise, by the end of Three Years Gone and, in fact, by the end of Chapter 5, most questions will be answered. Of course, not every question will be.
Sorry for rambling with all of these words; its really late right now so I'm probably not thinking very clearly.
Until Next Time,
