Here's the Deal/Seamless · 5:36am Feb 13th, 2015
Greetings all!
I am happy to say that I have actually been writing these last few days! I've been slowly weaning myself away from a few of my more unproductive practices and I'm now averaging about a 1000 words of terribly rusty prose a day. However, getting myself back into the habit of writing is only step one. The next step is actually convincing myself that my writing, despite my hiatus, is not that bad and that I will not be burned at the stake for publishing something on Fimfic.
So here's the deal!
I've been working on a one-shot for some time now. (Well, I've been working on many one-shots for some time now, but I've actually been making progress on this one). This story is called Seamless. Octavia and Vinyl Scratch are the main characters and, like most of my quote-unquote "romance" one-shots, it serves as a sort of prologue for an actual romance story* which I may or may not ever expand upon.
I will release this one-shot on Sunday, the 15th of February by 8:00pm EST. Iwill release this story on Sunday, the 15th of February by 8:00pm EST! And if I don't I'll... I'll... Well, I'm not sure what I'll do. Some kind of punishment. A dramatic reading of the worst fanfic I can find? Maybe. But whatever it is, it won't happen, because I WILL RELEASE THIS STORY ON SUNDAY, THE 15TH OF FEBRUARY BY 8:00PM EST!
I swear by all that is cute, horsey, and musical. I swear on treble clefs and bridged eighth notes, two-tone blue manes and charcoal grey coats. I swear on harps and lyres. I SWEAR ON BOOZE AND COOKIES!

*I have a real problem with romance one-shots. I don't feel comfortable having any real romance develop unless gratuitous timeskips are involved (as I did in Music of the Night, even though timeskips aren't really my style) so I end up writing to the Beauty and the Beast "Something there that wasn't there before" moment, and stop before I get carried away by the story. All-in-all, it adds up to an argument with myself over whether or not sewing the seeds of a romance warrants adding the romance tag to a story.
How about a Pinkie Promise? /)-.O
Cupcakes into eyes? Or the wrath of Pinkie Pie for those who dare to break a Pinkie Promise?
That dramatic reading idea as a punishment would be pretty cool.
