I don't think I have really mentioned this yet, so now is as good a time as any. Once I am done with high school I am joining the military; the USMC to be exact. When that happens, my writing will creep to a halt and I will probably be putting whatever stories I have on a long term hiatus. That was the bad news. The good news, for me at least, is that I scored an AFQT of 92 on my ASVAB. For those of you that don't know what that is or what it means... it's Armed Forces Qualification Test and Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. The asvab is a set of tests involving science, math, reading, electronics, automotive knowledge, mechanical comprehension, and basic reasoning. The whole thing was about 300 questions and took up about 4 hours. No calculators allowed so all math must be done in your head or on scrap paper The test is scored out of 99 so getting a 92 is an outstanding achievement. The test basically dictates what jobs you can get and a few other things. getting an 80 is good enough to get most of the jobs available but having a 90 or better means I can have almost any job and whatever recruiter I meet will pretty much jump for joy -for lack of a better term- at seeing my score.
I took the practice ASVAB the other day for the Air Force, and landed a 63.
Nice, good luck with the real thing. If you plan to take it.
Good luck and stay safe.
Good Luck man.
Big thanks to you all.
