If I would call a 15,000 words story a big project is an entirely different matter. I have a few stories at or above this already, none of whch are anywhere near completion. My longest completed story is a word shy of 14,000, though.

2779233 Sometimes, it is good to have a project that feels highly realisable, as opposed to start out with a Novel sized story you have no idea as to how you can possibly ever finish.
Maybe some of my plans are way bigger than I can see the end of, like my original Eponey story the Crossover Just Another John Doe was based upon.

There are a few factrs that does decide the length of your chapters.
Details, for starters, you could add more details to the story in order to lengthen your chapters.
On the other hoof, it also depends on how long the story the chapter is to convay is.

I could probably always add more details. I have this problem, though, that I got such an active imaganation that I miss describing things, because I already see them in front of me. Future chapters will be longer, though, I'm pretty sure.

I get fairly good responce from 1,000 - 2,000 word chapters. Sadly, I haven't seen too much on the new and longer chapters.
What bothers me the most here, is how some are praised for managing long chapter over 6,000 words, just like you see flimsy to crappy stories praised as well, while the good once rarely get all that much.
