So, since Saints Row IV has multiple endings, I am thinking of offering a few of my own.
Along with the canon ending, I'm thinking about a:
-bad ending
-"realistic"
And a few possible others that might occur. The two I listed are basically guaranteed, but... Yeah.
I'm curious about what you think would make a decent alternate ending to this little read I'm writing.

I would love see a 'Twilight takes over the Zin Empire" ending, or one where the leader of the Saints becomes an alicorn princess for 'teh luls'.

i completed the game 5 times and always got the same ending (they happily discover the zin have time travel, followed by super dresses gang on the dancefloor segment)
ho, a end where the sistem get rebooted and randomly appearing Rainbow Dash that enter in contrast with Pierce for the funs following them both, with much conseguent facepalming from the others
2770198 You can get the regular ending by not doing all the loyalty missions. If you do all of them you get your ending.

2770549 Not at all. If you don't complete all of the missions you get an ending where the Saints set out into space to find another habitable planet. You'll get the "true" ending by doing all the loyalty missions. It's intentional.

old dedicated gamers usually try to complete most of the secondary mission before doing the final one, since most of the times you cannot continue after the end credits
so, I always ended up unlocking the good ending, never actually questioning if there was an alternative one, since nothing (except maybe one achievement descripion) point to the other one

back in my days we had two line and a point for videogames, with no blinding colors or fancy graphic, and we 100% it every single time we played it, AND WE LOVED IT! now, get out of my lawn, youngster.
joke aside, I really didn't know that SR4 had different endings up to a couple hours ago; any indication in-game whoud have been good. I mean, it's not a small games, but it's not something like Skyrim, with those absurd "fast" mission that makes you go from one side of the map to the others a few times, just to come back to talk with the first guy you meet, listing them in a log with all the others going on at the same time and with multiple possible outcome for most of them

I would suggest an Out takes Chapter of fucking hilarious ending ideas for those that can't get fleshe dout well enough, and a ' Balls out Insanity' Ending that not only jumps the shark, but sets it on fire before surfing it across a lave flow on top of Freakazoid etc etc. We all play Saints here, we all want an ending like this, canon or not XD
2770641 Actually, they did indicate it, even if not explicitly so. The description for "Punch the Shark" says something to the effect of "I hope you did all the loyalty missions if you want the best ending. "

I always thought it was the jane austin mini-sequence added at the very end, not a real different ending
Ideas for alternate endings.
- The Saints and Twilight defeat Zinyak, the ponies having to accept Twilights darker nature.
- The ponies not accepting Twilight's darker nature and getting into a fight with the Saints over having "corrupted" her, including Twilight either having to pick a side or stop the fighting. (Three endings there)
- Twilight being shunned by her fellow ponies, and finally snapping. She enjoys the power, soinstead uses the Zin to take over Eques as her own(or the Saints)
- Her fellow ponies accepting that having a darker side is natural( Kinda doubt this since their world isn't that dark)
- Celestia not able to see past Twilight's darker nature, banishing her from their world. Might involve Twilight leaving with the Saints, the Saints fighting for her right to be a part of Eques, fighting Celestia to overcome her rule, etc.
- Celestia offering her aid to recreate the Saints a new home, or offering them to stay for saving their world.
Just a few thoughts.
I don't remember there being two different endings for SR4, other then that servant that tells you about the time machine depending on what missions you did.
You could do different endings that revolve around how accepting the ponies and everyone else are of the Saints, Twilight's new darker nature. One ending I see is that the ponies look pasted the Saints' violent nature mostly because they SAVED their world from the Zin. I do see some confrontation between the Boss and Celestia over the Saints' actions/nature but I see the Boss using words and mirroring Kinzie's speech from the start of the Gat mission.
Twi could try and curb her violent side by using the simulation to vent, which I see her friends using to play out their own fantasies, which could be bonus chapters. Oh I've been meaning to ask if you thought about having the Mane Six and others trying out missions like Twi did. Like Fraud.

The city of Steelport laid in ruins as the Boss took in the destruction and carnage.
Boss: What the hell happened here? Did someone piss off Johnny?
Gat walks up.

Boss: Tank?
Gat: Yeah weren't you doing that Tank Mayhem? You've been on a roll blowing shit up, even the shit that you already covered in shit.
Boss: The fuck? Johnny I just got here!
Gat: Shit really? Well fuck if it wasn't you then who the fucking else could do this much destruction?
Tank bursts out of random burning building, and stops infront of the Boss and Gat, falling apart due to reckless driving. The hatch pops out as three little fillies and one pegasus mare jump out, coughing from the clouds of smoke coming from the tank. The white filly looks at her flank and pouts.
