The second story has begun · 10:30pm Feb 2nd, 2015
Today, I have just published the start of my next story, LEGO Equestria Girls 2. At the time I'm writing this blog, I have just submitted it, and it's now only a matter of waiting for approval. I've already covered a few things in the author's notes in that story, and I anticipate I'll be answering some questions in the comments. However, there's a few things I'd also like to mention, but will take up a lot of words (the second author's note is already long enough as it is).
First of all, I did get a chance to watch Rainbow Rocks, and I did so many times to ensure I would remember much of it for months to come (since that's how long it'll take me to write this whole story). Interestingly, that opportunity came near the end of December, just two days before the day I had been planning to start my writing! (As a result, I was writing the prologue on the same days as the last few times I watched that movie.) Now that I'm no longer missing out on anything, the entirety of my second LEGO Equestria Girls story has already been planned out, and it's only a matter of taking the time to write it all out.
Also, I had mentioned occasionally how my first story was heavily inspired by Clutch Powers, with a few references to the Lego Movie. This second story will sort of flip that around: inspired by the Lego Movie, with a few references to Clutch Powers. Regardless, the minifigs of this Lego World will still be the more flexible kind seen in Clutch Powers, rather than what you see in the Lego Movie. (Interestingly, if I decide to write a third story next year, I'll have no additional Lego movies to draw inspiration from, so I'll need to get very original for that one.)
If I remember correctly, I mentioned in an author's note early in the first story that since I will not be giving detailed descriptions of any of the Lego models built throughout the entire story series, I would be interested in seeing some readers get creative with their Lego sets and show off their own interpretations of what such models might actually look like. If you don't think you have enough Lego pieces to make what you want, then perhaps you might be interested in trying Lego Digital Designer (which you can download for free here). I just barely downloaded it on my desktop computer yesterday, so I haven't yet had an opportunity to try it out, but I do know that it has a huge selection of different parts to choose from. If you're willing to try it out, feel free to share images of whatever creations you make. (I doubt I'll be building anything from my LEGO Equestria Girls series, since I'd rather spend that time actually writing the story itself.)
I think that covers all of the important things for now. I hope everyone will enjoy reading LEGO Equestria Girls 2.
