R.I.P Darren Shahlavi · 9:33pm Jan 21st, 2015
This is really for anyone who has heard or is a fan of action movies and is a way for me to pay my respects.
It's a sad day as I found out that recently one of my favorite actors and martial artist Darren Shahlavi passed away, he was 42. This is sad for me as Darren is one of the few people in the movie business who got me into martial arts and I had hoped to work with him one day in the movie business especially in a action movie, as he was really good in them and from what I hear fun to work with but sadly it seems that day will never come, still even though he is gone I will give him credit for inspiring me to get an interest in martial arts. Darren was an English actor and martial artist who know mostly for his roles in action movies, also having roles in t.v shows and stunt work, though he mostly played villians, he made his characters cool to watch and even hateful to see them get what's comming to them, proving he was just as capable as an actor like any other. He even managed to wrok with some of the coolest action stars. My favorite thing about the films he was in, was the fight scenes, being a martial artist he made the fights look awesome and real, making the movie or show more enjoyable. the shows he had be in where Sanctuary, Human Target, Metal Hurlant Chronicles, True Justice, and Arrow. He was in Mortal Kombat: Legacy as Kano. His film list and people he had fight scenes with where Tai Chi II with Wu Jing, Bloodmoon with Gary Daniels, I Spy with Eddie Murphy, Ip Man 2 with Donnie Yen, Born to Raise Hell with Steven Seagal ,Tactical Force with Michael Jai White, The Marine 3: Homefront with Michael "Mike" Mizanin and The Package with Steve Austin. His final two movies coming out this year in Kickboxer co-staring Alain Moussi, Dave Bautista, and Georges St-Pierre and Pound of Flesh co-staring Jean-Claude Van Damme. From what I've heard despite mostly playing bad guys he was a great and fun person to work with always worked well with others, and lived life to the fullest, overall a nice guy. Truly a great person to know, it's sad he went to early in life. Still he'll be remember for his part in action movies and t.v shows and I wish him a peacful rest in heaven. God Bless you Darren.
It's sad that 2015 had to start like this as I was hoping to avoid any kind of tragedy for at least a few months but I guess this shows that you never know when your time comes and that you should live life to the fullest without regrets.
Here is a great tribute video of him I found. Enjoy.
