Important Rewrite Question (Lazarus) *Important* · 12:53am Jan 12th, 2015
So a fellow fimfictioner made me realize not too long ago that Lazarus, although it's written fairly well, it could be patched up in a few areas. Now I'm not planning to rewrite the entire story like I did previously (except for the Sparkling Light chapter I think I'm going to bin it and start a new). What I'm saying is possibly going back and fleshing out the characters more y'know?
It wasn't until a couple chapters ago I started actually throwing a bit of personality into them namely Michael, who's more of a sarcastic jokester, or the supporting character Bryan in the recent chapter whose sort of a suck up/prick to his co-workers. Y'know something that'll actually make the readers find these basic characters more memorable aside from Hassel because I wrote a decent man with a German accent.
Another thing would be to possibly cover up any plot holes that may be lurking about and squash any stupid grammar mistakes that may still be lurking.
I'm asking this so that if I do go along with it no one will be confused on why the next chapter is taking another couple months or so, etc.
So please if you think it's fine as it is let me know, if not... again just lemme know.
All up to you. Let us know your decision though. I have had this story in my list to read for a while. If you plan on going back for some rewrites, then I shall hold off even longer until those are done.
Do it!!!
More delays? Oh for fuck sake! I mean seriously man, there are stories on this site that wind up going updated for years because the author gets into the perfection trap. Real novels never get everything perfect and you've already sold us on your story, over a thousand people have faved it and want to see where it goes. So can we just get on with it instead of delaying that progression to polish things that are already fine?
2716845 I appreciate your enthusiasm, but the primary reason on why this story takes so long to update is not because of me constantly going in and fixing it. It's because I have more important things such as school and trying to find work than write fiction. Though I do like how you said it's fine the way it is.

Even more reason to focus on updates and not rewrites
I haven't seen any major plotholes that affect the story. Except maybe that one stallion obsessed with the human's coming and he never appears again
No.
Go watch S04E24 "Equestria Games"
Then get on with the story... PLEASE!!!
You don't need to be so critical of your own work! We LOVE IT!!!
If you don't move forward, you are spinning your wheels, and the more you spin your wheels, the more likely you'll get stuck. Sitting still is stagnating. Rewrites are for when you are done, and feel like bringing up the old to meet the quality of your latest writing. I can tell you that as a reader... I am NOT going to re-read 95% of the re-writes that authors do. I don't have that kind of time. I barely keep up with the stories I DO read as it is.
I want to read NEW stuff, NEW chapters... Not rehashes of old stuff, because authors are their own worst critics!
So yeah... PLEASE... Move forward with new chapters, and enough with this rewrite stuff!
Personally, I think that the story is great how it is. The only real problem I had with it was how early you introduced Sparkles the Doctor Professor Chef pants, and even that is nitpicking! You are an extremely talented author and deserve some time to gather your thoughts and keep your life together; so crack open those books, try and find a job (I'm having trouble with that myself) and come back to us when you're ready.
