    Woah!! What exactly IS Humor?!

It's forming a new positive connection in your brain which once had a negitive or neutral reaction that takes you by surprise, not to be confused with making you afraid.

    And boom, gone.

Deleted the heated blog post at the request of a friend, if you have a sour taste in your mouth after that, I don’t, so you shouldn’t either.

    Anyway, so ponies are cute.

Double Dipping. · 10:21am Jan 4th, 2015

"Ahhh crap, my editors are right, I was accidentally offensive towards homosexuals."
"But I can't think of what to write in place of that scene."
"Eh, I'll just start working on the next chapter and wait till I have a fresher look at the current chapter."
"....Aaaaaand the next chapter is done."
"Now I have two chapters to edit."
"Okay then."

Can't really say I know that feel but good luck and looking forward to the next chapter.

Hm, I'm not really sure what to say about that. Maybe you can make it over the top enough to make it absurd and funny instead of offensive?

Oh well, on the bright side we should get two chapters out of the deal.

You could just add a disclaimer that you didn't intend to offend. I mean, not all homosexuals are offended by homo-humor and not all humor can be inoffensive. I mean, just look at WKUK. Some of the most offensive things are in their sketches and honestly nobody cares, 'cause it's funny.

Assuming you're writing a comedy piece. Otherwise, it shouldn't matter TOO much unless it's clearly and undeniably offensive without any artistic value.

Faggots be butt hurt.
I don't think anyone can do anything about it,they do that to themselves. You know that you don't have to be too politically correct. Just write disclaimer or something.

That was itself kind of offensive, but only largely because it wasn't terribly funny. However, it also kind of illustrated the same point you were making.

I mean, really; there's no way it could be 10% as bad as half the stuff we see every day on Facebook and Twitter.

And if it somehow is that bad, then all you need do is ask yourself how you can take the scene in question, and turn it into The Fabulous Equestrian Adventure of Tobias Funke.

Actually, do we know if anyone's written that yet?

Now I'm curious as to what you wrote that is offensive

If you need an extra set of eyes on it, I am happy to help out. Ive helped one or two people with some mildly offensive stuff in the past.

But as 2699600 said, it will depend on the context, and how offensive it might be.

spic
chink
nigger
faggot
tranny
lezbo
cracker
kike
sand nigger
curry nigger
autist

All of these words have been made "offensive" by the media. It is the media's job to maintain the status quo. Maintaining the status quo requites creating division in order to prevent unity.

Many of the above words are used by the very group described as a term of endearment. We need to stop worrying about everything someone else says or even that someone might be offended by what we say. These superficial things are designed to prevent discussion of things that actually matter to instead focus on these less important and divisive group wars. Why do you think there is always a media circus when it comes to recent shootings? They are there to focus on divisive but comparatively not fundamental problems which are closer to the status quo.

I might belong to as many as 3 or 4 of the above groups and I am never offended by these things. In fact, I have never been offended on the internet no matter what anyone has said about me. You should not be worried about what minuscule thing you write that might offhandedly offend someone. People who are easily offended need to grow a spine and not let such words govern their feelings.

Just preface the chapter with a warning that it may contain offensive content.
If they still get bent out of shape, eh, it doesn't matter. It's not as if a random fan fic is going to turn anyone homophobic.

2699759 If a fanfic could do that, then that person needs a reality check.

and dont forget that you have a lot of leeway when it comes to what the characters do and think. Quite often they wont be politically correct, or agree with you, or even be all that intelligent. But write the characters as they are, and everyone will just have to get over it. I mean, getting offended because fictional character said something you disagree with is just absurd.

2699735 Very funny that the only people who seem to be offended by those terms are the ones who tell everybody else they have to be offended by them.

You shouldn't be afraid of offending them since no matter what words you use someone somehow will find a way to be offended by whatever you say.

Accidentally offensive? Bro, as someone who should be offended by it, I have not noticed a single damn thing. And even if I did it really wouldn't ruin the story.

Oh goodness, look what I started... (Think I replied to Flint twice there.)
I was mostly just trying to state the reason why two chapters were on the way (although that's not the only reason,) As for the homosexual thing, I already found something to replace it with. It wasn't something I was trying to garner support over. Sorry that I caused a tiff over this.

2700610
Pssh, we're all on your your side. This is FimFic, not Tumblr. Do what you gotta do and write what works for the story.

2700610
So... you're not going to write The Fabulous Equestrian Adventure of Tobias Funke?

2700682
I never agreed or denied to that statement.

2700321

Y’know what's funnier? People not part of a group saying it's cool to call them something because they "totally don't mean to be offensive". (If you don't mean to be offensive, why use the word at all?) Because the people insisting that it's okay to use them are essentially admitting to possessing the mental faculty of a kindergartner, and that I now have carte blanched to call them a god-damn moron.

"Congratulations. You've called a person what they are. Next you can tell us all what colour the sky is, how many fingers you have and maybe even what time it is."

I don't mind if my friends or even my own brother call me a queer or whatever variations they can think of. I know those people, and I'm pretty sure they meaning nothing by it, But I'm not impressed by it either.

That said, hooray for double chapters!

2700610 I think it would be perfectly fine as long as people knew you weren't trying to be offensive (though some people always try to find ways to be offended by anything).

2700610
I say
We gangbang the dudes opposing you.
With dicks. :3

2700748 Well, get on it then. We have a perfectly fine cast of characters to screw over work with so go have fun writing the most hilariously over the top offensive comedy you can. :rainbowlaugh:

Dude in all honesty if someone starts hassling you the people that read Changeling Doll will start hassling them until they go away we don't like our chapters being delayed over little stuff like this.

Well, great, now I want to know what you wrote.
