FlashLight is a thing. Get over it.

So my first fanfic story, Flash Bang!, has been out there for about 48 hours now, and I'm impressed with the fact that it has over 650 views already. That's awesome. It's gotten 70 upvotes, and has been added to 28 favorites. Thanks for all that positive feedback!
What surprised me the most, however, is how much everybody hates Flash Sentry and the idea of him hooking up with Twilight Sparkle. I just don't get it. The main argument seems to be that Flash is only a good-looking rocker-boy, with a shallow personality. Sure. I'll give you that. But guess what: that's what girls want. Does Twilight deserve better? Absolutely. But that's not the point. He's the cute bad boy that you can still bring home to meet the parents.
And what about all the other ponies and characters? It seems there is very little resistance to Twilight having a sexual relationship with just about anyone else. Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack are all fair game. Celestia, her mentor, why not? Shining Armor is her brother, but that's okay. And Spike is a baby dragon, but that's fine, too, apparently.
Of course it's all good. That's how it should be. That's what an open fiction forum should be all about!
There are lots of topics here on FiMFiction that don't float my boat. And that, remember, is a great thing. I'm glad that I live in an age when thousands of people can share their crazy, wonderful, sexy, scary, graphic, silly, gory, and erotic stories of Equestria.
But don't go crapping all over someone's work just because you don't like the premise. Go read something else. Or better yet, try writing a story of your very own. It can be exactly what you want it to be.
If you're taking up the mantle of going around and downvoting FlashLight shipping stories (or any other topic you disapprove of), then you have a long task ahead, and you are taking yourself way too seriously, mate.
We're all writing (and reading) about ponies, after all.
