    Kitchen's Closed

I cannot fucking deal with Anthony Bourdain dying before Henry Kissinger.

The only celebrity death to hit me even half this hard was Terry Pratchett. I don't even know where to fucking begin.

A Visual Glossary of Brawlers, Part One

I swear I'm not writing this just because some commenters said all the fight jargon was hard to follow, I'd actually planned to do this as a companion piece all along. Honest.

    Writing again, a bit

They say it's better to burn out than it is to rust, but after a year of adapting to a 50 hour/week desk job and barely writing anything because of it, I say "Why not both?"

Do I still have fans on this site? I hope so, because I've got a new story out! It combines three of my passions: teenage dirtbags, mixed martial arts, and prescription stimulant misuse.

Scarlet's First Ever Story is Out!

So, ScarletWeather, my future wife, is amazing. You all should know this.

For starters, she's my brain. If there has been a coherent arc in any of my stories, a well-crafted bit of characterization, an evil twist, welp, it was probably midwifed if not hatched entirely by Scarlet.

The Fading World is out, and a thank-you · 1:25am Dec 31st, 2014

I have a new story out, guys! It's called The Fading World, it's a loose crossover with Fate/Zero (not quite as loose as Banishment Decree was to Burn Notice, but loose nontheless) and it's what I've been hammering out for the past few weeks. I've got chapters saved up, so expect updates daily for at least a week. It's an attempt at actual heroic fiction rather than snarky black comedy or realpolitik spyish stuff. Expect multiple points of view, woobie protagonists, druid!Applejack, the world's worst grandma, fanservice, blatant acts of heroism, Gilda being a dick, lushly detailed ritual magic, grimderp, and Discord deliberately misunderstanding the concept of 'self-insert.'

...However, it's not quite right to claim this one as my own project. I slapped the text onto the page, but my darling boyfriend Scarlet Weather contributed more of the characterisation, world-building, and evil twists than I did, as well as the backbone of knowledge required to actually write the damn thing. He's the co-author for this one, and deserves all my thanks.

In fact, given that he's been pre-reading and not-so-quietly encouraging every damn thing I've written in the past year and a half, he deserves even more thanks than that. Not to mention that I'm kinda head-over-heels about him too :twilightblush:

Go check out the story, guys. It's well worth your time.

P.S. next chapter of The Quiet Equestrian is also being quietly chipped away at by us. Expect it in the next seven days.

I haven't written a word of text and refuse your co-author credit but I have to say that of all your stories I've contributed stuff to, this is my favorite.

Beating out the conversation in "We'll Dismember it For You" where Gilda reminisces about her childhood snapperdoodle. And only just.

I'm so glad you decided to write this, because even with it starting as a joke between us it's grown into something I think is actually going to be all sorts of awesome to read.

I was kinda wondering what happened to The Quiet Equestrian. Glad to see its hold was for a worthy cause.

It'll probably take me a little to get to but, honestly, this sounds fucking awesome!

This sounds very, very interesting indeed!
