Greetings fellow tiny horse enthusiasts! King of Beggars here with the good pony news!
The wait for my secret project is finally over, and today I am releasing three chapters of my new story, Twilight Sparkle of the Royal Guard. It's basically what you have on the tin. An AU story where Shining Armor and Twilight switch paths in life. It's my first pony adventure story and it's sure to be my most reviled work to date!
This idea kind of ran away with me, and sort of devoured the plotlines for two other stories I was thinking about. Also, I originally had another, much better (albeit it Harry Potter-ish) title for this story, but it would have been spoilers for what will eventually become chapter 4. That chapter will bear the story's original sub-title as its title and I'll make a note about it in the release blogpost.
For the production of this story, the biggest worry I had was trying to keep true to Twilight's personality while taking into consideration the fact that this Twi has had different life experiences. Hope I did the idea justice.
I know I usually give you guys an update timeline that usually works out to be two weeks or so, and by God I will try to stick to that, but I'm going to just say that if it takes me like three weeks between chapters, it's only because of the amount of tweaking I have to do with a story this big.

The story is really sweet. I especially like the way you have written Twilight, nice job on that. I do hope that we will see some more of Celestia, you captured her pretty well. Oh, and I am excited. Have a good one!
