That moment when you finish the last book in your favourite series and the ending just brings you to tears. Mortal Engines, if you haven't heard of it, look for it and read it. Trust me, it's worth it. It's a series full of Adventure, Action and Romance, with hints of tragedy, sadness and humour mixed in. Oh and Steampunk. The whole world it's set in is vast and insane! In the wake of a devastating '60 minute war', huge 'traction' cities roam round on tracks and wheels, hunting one another and devouring anything in their way, in a mad effort to fuel themselves and build themselves up. Municipal Darwinism, a town eat town world. Anti-tractionists plan and draw up plots to destroy every single city and turn the world green again. And Stalkers! Resurrected humans, the dead brought back to life using ancient machinery from the pre-war era, designed to kill and fight for their creators.
I'm not good with descriptions, but if you're mildy interested, I suggest checking it out. Please?
Book one is just called 'Mortal Engines', there's also a prequel series that explains why there are giant friggin cities that roam the world, 'Mortal Engines, Fever Crumb'. They're classes as childrens books, but with the amount of giolence in them, I doubt that. I'd say they're more 'young adult' books, y'know? Pfft like DARING DO! XD
I don't know what to do now, I spent most of my freetime reading them and getting lost in them. I guess I could re-read them.... Eh who am I kidding? I'm gonna re-read them!
MORTAL ENGINES!
(Not to be mistaken with Mortal Kombat.)
