Chapter 35: Princess Twilight Sparkle – The Binding Lies
We're on the home stretch now! We finally finish off Season 3 and Twilight's ascension here, and we're starting to finish off all the covered history.
But not yet! As I said (and you probably noticed throughout the fic), Season 4 is still canon and significant! And there'll be some brief coverage of some of that stuff in the very last chapter! Loose Change's still got one more hard hitter! (why so many baseball references? I don't even know.)
One part I really like writing in this chapter was the run-down of all the possible alicorn choices. It gives you a feeling of fullness, like we really have covered a lot throughout this fic. And it's sort of a "last hurrah" for these characters, Loose Change gets one more crack at 'em as we reach the end.
Loose Change reaches a sort of catharsis with herself at the end of this. I thought I might've been a little too vicious with her thoughts on the details behind Twilight's ascension, but on the other hand, I feel if I was Loose Change, this would be a perfectly reasonable reaction. I mean, I liked Magical Mystery Cure, but under Loose Change's eyes, what a slap in the face, huh? Just like with Cadence, it does seem that in-canon, Celestia's reasons for ascension really are a stretch. Not to say that Twilight doesn't deserve it of course, Loose Change's handwaves aside, but choosing the events of MMC to ascend her is...questionable to say the least. Well, I still liked the episode though!
Well, we'll be closing off Loose Change's saga in the last chapter! We'll see her growth(?), and conclude this story (essay?) off right!
In earlier drafts of this chapter, there was a brief Equestria Girls paragraph near the end, but I feel like I've covered most of it already in different chapters and it didn't really add much in the long-run, so I took it out. The only real thing I was hesitant above removing was that pun, Electric Boogascoot. So if you're wondering about this blog post's name, think of it as a compromise to myself.
I've been kind of slow on the blog-front, but I do intend to get some blogs out before the release of the last chapter! They probably won't be anything mindblowing, but just some stuff I thought would be interesting to share with you guys!
